Jimny - ARB (or other) replacement bumper
Saxj, a replacement bumper and some "mean" tires will look good on the Jimny.
BUT, where are the sensors for the air bags ? Also the bumper forms part of the front fender, this will be a tricky replacement ....

The sensor for the air-bags is in the console on the floor in front of the gear-lever. So a replacement bumper shouldn't affect air-bag deployment.b

Just spoke to 4x4 Megaworld.
They have not brought in any stuff for the Jimny. A special order would be EXPENSIVE. When pushed for a figure I was told "about R30 000" - Not "expensive" is the correct word .....
The search continues ....

The ARB Bumper costs just under #500 in the UK which at today's exchange rate works out to around R7000.00. R30000.00 is a little ridiculous I would say.

These quotes are from Suzuki direct, so I cannot see anything happening with regards to Jimny owners improving the look and getting a decent bumper fitted. A real pity.

The ARB manufactured bull bar is fully airbag complient. I would have expected a price of R8K - R10K. So a price of R30K is scary...... Maybe I wont trade in that Sammurai just yet...

I have been looking at these "types" of bumpers on other vehicles, and then looked closely at the Jimny.
The black plastic wheelarch would have to be cut when fitting the ARB (or similar) bumper. The side view will be a bit wierd with the bottom part of the front suspension/frame sticking out.
The photo on the Aus website looks GOOD, but I am having second thoughts if it will look that good from all angles. A few bakkies, with these ARB type bumpers, does not look good from the side in my opinion.
Also if the bumper is made from "thick" steel you will have to upgrade the front suspension to carry the extra weight.
Probably more useful to spend that money on bigger tires and later a bit of suspension lift .......

Yes I have started and on the pictures it looks good but if you look at it from a different angel it is not so nice. It looks like a bull bar with no bumper not nice at all.

Mine is a bolt-on, ARB drill and cut to fit it to the Jimny. If you remove mine you can refit the old plastic bumper.
