New Ford Ranger Bull Bar?
Ok, looks like I'm spamming the forum. I bought the new shape ranger november last year. Stock standerd. The bull bar that ford supplies for the new ranger looks rather impressive! Has anybody retro-fitted the ford bull bar? How much does it cost, etc. What's included on the bullbar? Fog's? Does it take long to fit?
Apologies for the plethora of questions.
Regards,
Martin Coetzee

Hi Martin,
Standarb bullbars supplied by the manufacturers usually aren't very practical in terms of 4x4 usage. They might look good, but you can't fit a winch or similar to them and you can't recover on them either. They also decrease the approach angle of the vehicle
Best option for 4wd functionality is to get a full replacement bumper. they offer the vest protection and improve the 4wd abilities through a bigger approach angle and they are made from thicker steel than he standard nudge-bars. Have a look at nudge-m and burnco in the cape. Alternatively visit places like 4wd megaworld or LA Sport for options
In terms of the standard bullbar, you can pick up second hand ones (saw one or 2 advertised on the forum). Spot lights aren't expensive and fitment is quick and easy

Thanks Christo! Great advice. But I must be totally honest. I don't think I'll go for the 'tough' off-roading bits. It's just for when I go the farm, maybe a trip to Mozambique, etc. I must be really honest, The new ranger looks really good, and mine looks like it needs something infront to 'round-it-off'. Does the ford supplied bull bar decrease the approach angle alot?
Thanks again for the info,

Hi Martin,
The standard Ford bumper doesn't impede your approach angle much at all. It gives pretty good protection, especially to the inter cooler which sits in a fairly vulnerable position.

SAC or CRD can do the intercooler kits, or you can buy a big cooler and fit DIY, then have pump optomised afterwards
For the 3.0 check the sticky for the chip, lots of info there
For bumper, speak to the fitment centres for the imported ones, or have a look at Nudge-M, good local one

I have an old 2002 Ranger standard nudge bar plus the front skirt that is replaced when the after market bumper is fitted. If any one needs, accident or what ever, I am in Cape Town, just pick it up.

The pics are of the new Ranger and Mazda Ford approved nudge bars. The previous model had an paper thin mild steel exhaust pipe bent into a nugde bar, first thing I threw away.
The Ford S/S bar is what I have lieing around as nudge bars don't interest me. They around R6000 the last I look.....PM make an offer...

Hi
I only just came back from Mercedes Benze so I'm knackered...I'll call you tomorrow then I can find out who and how much to courier.
I have the mounting brackets as well, must just go find the bolts in my garage so you have a complete fitting kit. Takes 10min to fit.

Is it possible to fit a after market bull bar to a Ford Ranger '07 - '10 model?
By the looks of it, it does not seem possible?
Has someone done it and pics please??

HUH? You can fit a full integrated bumper or any nudge bar you want, piss easy job BUT, if you have the new one you have airbags across the range and Ford will void your plan/waranty, so they say this is why they only ok their factory numdeg bar...
As for pics...search ARB bumpers, Burnco, Nudgem,Redback, basically search Ford Ranger intergrated bumper.
