Thumbs up Leeuwenboschfontein

Been meaning to post this thread for almost 2 weeks now - finally got down to it.

We spent the long weekend from 30 April to 4 May at this farm in the mountains in the Montagu/Touwsriver region and I want to compliment them on a superb venue. The set up is superb, the trails are challenging without uncalled for risk of damaging your vehicle, but more than that, very scenic indeed and the camp site very well equipped without losing the "in the bush" feeling.

If you are looking for a place to really challenge the abilities of yourself and your vehicle to the extreme - probably not for you. But if you are looking for a really quiet place to just get away from it all at very reasonable rates within a 2 hour drive of Cape Town, this is it.

To Jannie, Joan and Johnny - thanks from us for a great weekend. I hope you do well - your attitude is right and your focus on preserving nature whilst enjoying it refreshing and commendable.

I have to agree with herbie. This was the first real trail I did with the Jeep and it is a nice alrounder with a few hair raisers if you want. The camping spot was good and under impreovement when I was there 2 years ago now.

What impressed me the most was the amount of work that had been done on the train to prevent erosion, not often you see that.

Really friendly people. were even prepared to help with feul if I decided to fly in (they have an air strip).
