Het bietjie gaan speel by Umzinto Quarry die naweek. Eerste keer wat ek die Disco vat - very impressive.

Cheers

That's exactly why I am considering this - even thinking of just getting those magnetic strips/panels made up for the doors.

Regardless of mileage, Keith's Disco is immaculate. Always nice to see a nice specimen like that. Keep it up Keith

I took it in to LR after it has left me standing twice now with a flat battery and after spending money to disconect the tracker only to be told that the battery is FINE?

We will see.

I also fitted a Stofpad bashplate a few weeks ago on the D4 on the positive side

I will be doing the long range fuel tank but not now......I will have to save up for it. Sorry for the bad quality of the pictures, took it with my tablet tonight. Will take better pictures with my camera tomorrow. My next cheap mod will be a snorkel from Bruce Tait here on the forum.

Fitted my Long Range tank on Saturday. Tomorrow Goldilocks will be stepping out in new high heels. Cooper At3's.

All of this in preparation for my visit to " die Kolonie " later in September. I want to do a Baviaanskloof trip incorporated with my best mates 40'th birthday

Can't remember the price but give them a call. Worthy investment just to keep on till it needs to be replaced.

Ok guys 3rd time lucky, its not a r10,000 service, I wish she only had 10000 Km's on the clock, it was a major service at 180,000 kilometers , 10,000 kilometers since the last one she's a td5 and thanks for the complement 2 bfree. Agree Deon, madman is a must have. Got lucky twice with water after that all the lives were used up so in it went.

Got mine back today...eventually, but all sorted at least with warranty and service paying for everything, so all good i suppose,
Had a Freelander 2 and a loan and I must say it was a very nice and comfortable drive, but I am so happy to have my V8 back, words can't describe

Put new Armada extreme shocks on my disco 1 the weekend , how can I say this

HELL IT IS NICE DRIVING A NEW CAR!!!!!!!

Those shocks work brilliant with the 2 inch longer coils in and the extra travel, I always thought I would miss my disco one day but the new /old one is even better than I thought.

cheers

Pic 3 - Driver side rear with FORUM sticker and carrier swivel point.
Pic 4 - Full pic, driver's side
Pic 5 - Side view of space between carrier and tail gate.
Pic 6 - Cam-locking mechanism from above in closed position.
Pic 7 - Cam-lock in open position with carrier still closed.
Pic 8 - Side view of cam-lock in closed position to show locking pin.
Pic 9 - Cam-lock handle in open position showing locking pin retraction.
Pic 10 - carrier in open position.

Check the battery connections. Mine did the same. Electrics worked, but the bad connection resulted in the starter doing diddly.

Also check she's properly in park if auto. Some people have had it that even though the selector was at the P position it wasn't properly selected due to electrics or something.

Had the cam belt and gearbox service yesterday, a bit early at 162k.

Also had the new spare alternator fitted for good measure while all was open.

She's ready for the next 160k km's.

Smile What I did today

I removed the head from the D2 after a low compression reading on number 1.

Is a burnt piston and sleeve needs redoing.

Pretty much, checked the oil and water and took a pic for all of you.

I think he's upset that it didn't take longer. He was eyeing that D4

Congrats Deon! This is the start of good things. What doesn't kill you builds character bud.

Enjoy! You've earned it.

Regards

Hope this helps you guys. My 11 year old son got it right to open and close the first time after I showed him. So, easy to operate with one hand.
Is that a little shock type of thingy there, like on the bonnet, does it assist in opening the wheel?
I don't know if its just on the later models, but I don't have it and I think it could be very nice with assisting to open..

Nice one, congrats

I think it helps with opening. Also keeps pressure on the wheel in the closed position if you do forget to lock it.

Not today but the weekend.
Going to fix the usual valve cover leak and hopefully fit the comms radio.
Still have to get it programmed though.

Smile EGR blank

Installed my EGR blanking kit today... WOW!!!!! what a different vehicle!!
She's more responsive, definitely smoother, doesn't feel as "heavy". Super stoked with this mod.

Nice one, congrats
It also helps to keep the carrier open when loading and especialy when parked on side slopes or declines.

Nice look, Renier. Is that the Frontrunner? Should the wind deflector not be pointing downward / be between the RR and the roof?

Lyk baie mooi Renier. Wat het hy jou gekos as ek mag vra? Ek is opsoek na die G4 se roofrack. Ek hou van sy form sowel as sy voorste windskerm.

Gasman;why would you prefer a shorty vs the full length rack?

Anyone else?
