Default V8 Lexus in kia Sorento

Good day Kia enthusiasts.
I decided to fit a V8 Lexus motor into my 2005 Kia Sorento after the cost of maintaining my 2.5 diesel motor became too costly.
This is now 3 months later and the project is just about done.
If anyone needs some info regarding this project, feel free to contact me.
Regards Riaan Maritz

auto box or manual?
What gearbox did you use? The Lexus one or an adapter onto the Kia box?

The V8 Lexus is becoming like the V6 Essex motor of days gone by....
Everyone has one in his car... From Combis to hiluxes... Now even a Hyundai. And I bet you they all have a freeflow....

A friend of mine does these v8 conversions to what ever you drop off at their place. (fullboost) they have fitted it to corolla's and kia delivery trucks. Fitted it to a friends rangers D/C which is running strong after a year and gives better consumption than the 4.0 V6. Not a bad engine at all.

This post is just to late, one of my friends lost his 2.5 diesel beginning of this year.

They just finished replacing it with another 2.5 diesel

I spoke to a guy today that is also selling the engine guts from his 2.5CRDi and he was quoted 80k to rebuild the motor... The quote he got for fitting a Lex V8 is about R30k, inclusive of motor, gearbox, wiring and remap etc. No brainer.

Waiting for the pictures, Riaan

It's running! I was suppose to check it out this week at Riaan's place which is near my work, but I'm away from the office on training.

Will check it out next week and snap a few pics with my phone if he allows me to take pictures of his handy work
