if the model coming to SA is the same shape as the Youtube vids, the front end is fugly to say the least. Rear space in the double cab appears a little small too.

Interesting, no tie downs visible around the bak.

normally the tie down around the bak comes on the work horse derivatives, the upper specced models will prolly only have on the inside. I picked this up on the current D-Teqs as the LX models doesnt have and the work horse ones did

Read the report in the CAR Mag today, looks like the local boys are doing a lot to make sure the new one is up to standard for local conditions. One thing disapoint though, they say NO STABILITY CONTROLL ? In al the other markets it does have, so why not in SA or it was just a typo ?
Anyone out there that knows maybe ?

Where can one read the article?

Is that trailer stability control, traction control or ESP? Is that for all models?

traction control and would guess stability control is standard.

Why?

Isuzu & GM are two separate companies.

In Australia, for example, you get the New Isuzu KB300 AND you get the Holden (Chev) Colorado 2.8.

Besides, while the GM 2.8 by Motori Venturi has higher outputs than the Isuzu's 300 D-Teq - guess which will last longer...

Go to www.isuzu.com.au & www.holden.com.au

This is true...
Look at the new Isuzu SUV (I posted the AU report on here MU7) it will have the exact same platform and might look like a trail blazer or not? Also going to run the RT50 motor...
As the rumours gets more and more, Isuzu is delaying the "new" motor for when the New Hilux (codename IMV2) will be launch in 2014 (2015 SA)... And apparently the Isuzus will run a totally different motor then the 2.8 in a few years... They did this with the D Max to Dteq as well...

A very Toyota (rish) look, back and sides, will definetly disappoint me. Bu I read elswhere the new Isuzu is a derivative of the Chev Colorado same as the DMAX, when it first came.

I've seen a new Extended Cab day before yesterday driving around Uitenhage.
Metallic brown one with a white canopy - and no camouflage on this one.
They must be ready, but I think GM still have too much stock of the current model
This new model may hurt the honourable Hilux even more......

[QUOTE=Ha-Ka;1428319This new model may hurt the honourable Hilux even more......[/QUOTE]

Yip,
1st there was the Amarok - made no difference to Hilux sales.
Then came the T6 ranger - making a big dent in Hilux sales.
The 2013 Isuzu KB/D-Max will further hurt Hilux.

That's why I remain convinced the next Hilux cannot be far off...

The loadbin is a tad too low.will look way more butch if it was higher or deeper.
Put your hand over the loadbin of the CC and then imagine how the line should have continued.More inline with the bottom of the window

I agree - but here's why...
In Thailand pickups are way cheaper than cars. Dunno why.
So bakkies & double cabs are cars to them.
They seem obsessed with lowering them.
They also bling them - big time.

The one in Gasmans pics is low & has the running board almost on the ground.

SA spec ones will be OK...

UK Spec

Workhorse...

I dunno Manny, I've been to Thiland twice and the Hilux and Tritons and Navaras etc are all like ours.
I really liked the look of the old Isuzu and hoped it would evolve from there this looks in competition with the BT50 and the Triton!!

I drove past the GM offices in JHB this weekend and I could swear I saw at least 6 new DMax's in the parking lot. I think they are going out to the press first.

A reliable source told me that the launch takes place in Nelspruit during March. I also had a good look at a double cab near the new stadium in PE and was quite impressed with what I saw.

Put your hand over the loadbin of the CC and then imagine how the line should have continued.More inline with the bottom of the window
Agree. Loadbin too low. Proportions of bakkie not looking right for me. Defnitely comming in March. Brother in law is a dealer.

Loadbox length & depth (Single Cabs):
Current KB 2365mm x 449mm
New KB6 .. 2305mm x 465mm (so shorter but deeper than current)
Amarok . . 2205mm x 508mm (shortest & deepest in class)
Hilux . . . . 2315mm x 450mm (longest but not deep)
Ford - Website does not seem to think bak diamensions are important to bakkie buyers

So they could have made the bak higher (deeper)...

It will look better with a decent canopy on. The Ford Ranger looks brilliant without a canopy, but not so good with an alu-cab, as the canopy is very shallow.

Manny, have you become an avid Isuzu fan now? Thought you were Toyota to the bone

The load bin just looks to low becouse of the rear windows having a angle that goes up, so the windows looks to high but its only becouse of that angle of the rear window but if you draw a strait line to the front window it is inline with the loadbin.
But I stil love the look and hopefully my first brand new car is going to be a new isuzu!!!!
Can't wait for it to be released!
