BUT, remember that the v6 bit is not correct, its a 4 pot like the current engine.
In the number game, Isuzu wont win many awards, but that torque spread is awesome and on the test drive they say its more refined/quieter while using less fuel (never a bad thing I reckon).
I did a 220KM stretch the other day from JHB to Fochville and back, my ave at 100kph (cruise control) was 8.2L/100. If the new engine can better that, i`m a happy man.

 Sorry ouks , but the Isuzu will have to dig and dig deep to beat the fordjie ..... just looking at the 2,5 petrol new Ranger ... no hassles of a turbo going after 200,000 k's ...and then the gat skop 3,2 ..it just does't stop running ... i think the GM boytjie are going to burn their fingers here ... if they do not come in under the ford price ... and price will be the issue here ..because the good old days are past ... 7 million are job less and are hungry .... big costs on ze way .... cheers ..

I take it that the width of the Isuzu is a typo?

agreed! the last shape ford was problems! We did 3 clutches, 2 gearboxes, a propshaft, to name a few issues, in only 100000km. I have friends with exactly the same experience. Untill the new fords are proven I think only fair for those burnt to keep our reservations about the ford brand. I think the new Ford is cool and those who are buying them are sure having fun, but im skeptical to put MY money down on one

The new Dmax dimension given on the autoevolution site is wrong. I was in Thailand late last year and the vehicle is much bigger than the current Dmax. The specs given is smaller than the current model.
Go and look at the Thailand website http://www.isuzu-tis.com/All-New/201...ss/V-Cross.pdf
And GMSA will be launching it with the new 2.8 Duramax engine.. The same engine the Chev Trailblazer is using.
The correct specs are:
New Isuzu 2.8D
132kw @ 3800rpm
470nm @ 2000rpm
Length = 5190mm
Width = 1840mm
Height = 1860mm
Ground clearance = 225mm
PS Isuzu built quality is one of the best out there.

There is so many speculation...
The 2.5 is going to be twin turbo 120kw and 400 and something torque.. You can see the photos of the motor on the internet... Hopefully this is what we will get...
Isuzu is not part of GM anymore, GMSA will still sell it locally, but I doubt the motors will be the same thing as the trail blazer, EXCEPT if the trail blazer is running a Isuzu motor which I don't think so...
I honestly LOVE the new Ford, but I will be very sceptical to buy it until it has proofed itself, In my family there is way to many Ford lovers, or should I say was...

There is much speculation..
I've had this argument over the weekend with a friend in the motor industry. Isuzu vehicles are using new GM engines. And he apparently knows someone at GMSA that said that the new engine and body will be similar to the Holden Colorado.

The Colorado is designed off the Isuzu, so engines should be the same as the colorado!

2013 D Max UK Specs
Greetings from Costa Rica!!!! This is my first post here!
Yesterday I was looking for the specs for the new Dmax as we are expecting it for late September. and after seeing in this forum some confusion regarding the specs I decided to go to the Isuzu UK page as they have just started selling the new D Max this week there, and found out a pretty complete set of specification. It seems ISUUZE is correct and this truck comes with much better specs thatn the ones originally posted.
Check this out!
http://isuzu.co.uk/features/specs/
Overall length (mm)5,295
Overall Width (mm)1860
Overall Height (mm)1785
Wheelbase (mm)3095
Max Towing Weight Braked (kg)3000
Ground clearance (mm)235

The 2.8 is a Dura-max motor developed by GM and Isuzu. GM is still dependend on Isuzu diesel technology

Way to many assumptions and guesses!!
The bi turbo needs proper fuel, not that coffee crap we pour in so we wont see it. I highly doubt we will get an Isuzu with a 2.8 GM motor, the 3.0 might not have the high spec, but its a proper workhorse.
But since I am now also guessing, lets wait and see. I would rather have a kickass torque spread window of the 3.0 than a flash in the pan peak of 470nm.
I think it looks pretty good (grows on you) and I am already thinking when I can get 1!
Maybe the 1 above (with the 2 inch lift kit)

Toyota and Isuzu are working on a few new CRD's together - New Hilux may come with a V6 that will slot into the Prado, same motor could end up as an option in the new Isuzu??

I really like a lot, no matter what engine it will always be great, and no Ford can ever get close to the Isuzu build quality, and to be honest never a Ford in my drive way again.
I did see some very camouflage units being tested here in PE, and was much bigger than the current models.
Lets see what Isuzu delivers.
Thanks
Andre

“Warranty cover for five years or 120,000 miles gives buyers of the new Isuzu D-Max peace of mind for longer than any other pick-up in the UK,” said William Brown, Isuzu UK's general manager. “Isuzu has become renowned for producing rugged, durable pick-ups and we’re now demonstrating our absolute confidence in the toughness of our new product.”
The new D-Max will be available in the UK with four spec levels and three cab configurations – extended cab, single cab and double cab. Prices range from the equivalent of R191 000 for the single cab 4x2 derivative, rising to about R284 000 for the range-topping Utah spec double-cab auto.
Even the entry-level model, in the UK, has a generous complement of standard equipment, including aircon, daytime running lights, power windows and front, side and curtain airbags.
'MOST REFINED'
Power comes from a 2.5-litre, twin-turbo, common-rail diesel engine available with a new six-speed manual or five-speed auto transmission. This advanced Euro5-compliant unit generates 122kW and 400Nm at 1400rpm.
"As well as being the most comprehensively developed, most efficient and most refined Isuzu pick-up yet," Isuzu says, "the all-new Isuzu D-Max is also a highly capable load-lugging workhorse: it has a three-tonne (braked) towing capacity and a payload capacity of more than 1000kg.
*The extended parts and labour warranty covers any defects in power train components or workmanship. This includes engine, transmission and drive line components and major ancillaries such as aircon compressor and power-steering pump.

Hi. I have the opertunity to buy a new KB300 D-tex 4x4 double cab for a nice price. Should I skip or buy it. I can get a demo Defender 110 double cab (2011 Puma spec) for a bit more (R290 000) but the wife hates it. Has no airbags and drives like a truck, but it's very tempted.
Hard decisions....
