Default H3 off-road

I want to thank Kevin and his team at the Hummer Adventure Club for a fantastic, well organized day on Saturday at Takbok in Paarl. We had a typical winter’s day, but I think this must have been ordered by Hummer SA to show the boys what the Hummer can get up to. My wife asked me on Friday night when I am going to sell my Disco I (50mm body lift, Nomad bumper, 33” Goodyear MTR’s, Auto gearbox). The answer - Jolanda as soon as I am happy with my Hummer. The Disco is now for sale. I was presently surprised to see what the Hummer can do. I have owned a Hummer for three weeks on the tar, but enough is enough this vehicle need to be off-road. The adventure package is obviously the way to go, just a pity we are not given the option of 33” tires. (These are stander in Canada)

Welcome to the forum Lehan3.

I dont know if you are the first Hummer owner on this forum, but I am sure you are gonna get plenty of questions from all of us regarding the Humvee.

Congrats on the new Hummer.

I wonder if it's as fast and capable as the hummer that was in the carpark at Atlantis this afternoon?

I missed that, must have had my eyes closed again while driving.

I would like to take my Hummer to Atlantis, but time is always a problem and then the permits, even a bigger hassle. Will have to plan carefully and hopefully fit 33" tires before then.

Looking forward to seeing you join us at Atlantis for an outing. Keep your eyes open as the guys go there regularly. You can also ask one of the guys to get a permit on your behalf if you want to join them.

I managed to get to Atlantis and was pleasantly surprised. This vehicle is very capable, but the ground clearance with the running boards is a problem. Johann Tyre said "you do not buy a 4x4 you build one". Buy a Hummer and the only mod's necessary is to remove the running boards and change the tires to 285\75\16. The following photos shows why my Hummer will have to make a turn at 1st Alignment Centre and Burnco.

Default wow!!!

Man that Hummer makes me tingle just looking at it! Thanks for showing the pics - please post more if you have, awesome! I can only dream of sitting behind the wheel of one of those babies! I saw my first hummer the other day in constantia (pity it was going in the opposite direction, would've loved to follow it a bit so I could get a better look!) and it made my mazda bakkie look like miggie in a thunderstorm. Like the ABSA bank advert.... "Someday"!! Stuff the dream house, I'll live in a hummer anyday!!

You should see Kevin in his Hummer at the 4xfun day in Atlantis on Saturday. I will be in Piketberg doing the Eco drive over Versveld pass down to Goedverwaght at the "Gee Gas" day.

I did not think we would see another Hummer in Piketberg at the Gee Gas Wheels Expo, but then something you would only see in the States a H1, H2 and my H3 all in one photo.
