Looks killer in gold and red. The black one looks a bit odd. I'm sure it's going to be a great addition to an already competitive market.

Gonna be interesting to see what fuel consumption figures are gonna be like on the new Isuzus, I reckon we can expect a real 8l per 100km

Nee wat, soos hy nou lyk is daar ontwerp elemente van die Navara, Hilux en selfs die Ford daarin.. Kom ons hoop dis bloot die fotografie wat hom in die steek laat. Anders vervang ek die D-Teq met iets anders.

Is it just an optical illusion or does the bin look too low for the cab and nose...

Herman,
I asked Dave today about the Tire size he has on his V-cross.. all he can remember was that it was a 255 something... He has some pictures of it, so he will mail them to me.

We were chatting about the suspension in his today, and he mentioned that the left front shock was leaking oil, and the ride was way to soft for him. But it does have coils in the front. Tiptronic 5 speed Auto box and is bigger than his previous Dteq. also a new motor, not the same as the old one.

On the Thai models the tire size is 255/65R17 , rim size 7.0Jx17
This is on the hi-lander, 4x2 model, but my guess is the 4x4 will have the same size wheels.
The lesser models have 245/70R16 and workhorse 215/70R15. so all sizes covered...

This morning I saw a Carryboy rig on a Navara load bin which would solve this low load bin image very nicely!!

{EDIT} Found it on the SA Canopy website...on an Isuzu

Default 2013 Isuzu D-max

The current Single Cab has a bak length of just under 2400mm.
The longest in it's class (Amarok & Tata Xenon have the shortest).
Does anyone know how long the 2013 D-Max bak is..?

As far as I know the Ranger's bak is longer, but not as wide as the Amarok's.

I see there is a 2.2 diesel Engine in the Captiva that develops 135 kW (15 more than Amarok) and 400NM torque. I wonder if we will see that Engine in the bakkie. I do not know if it is intercooled and/or turboed. It is also better than the Ford 2.2 (110kW& 375 Nm)

Always difficult to judge a vehicle by initial pictures, but to me it looks very good!!! After owning 3 Isuzu's and many hundreds of thousands of kilometres behind their wheel, I have a tremendous amount of respect for their products. BUT, I believe it will take a monstrous effort to beat the new Ranger, especially from the 2nd year of Ranger production when the manufacturing process and initial huccups have been sorted!

No, Amarok is around 2200mm i.e. VERY short, current KB is 2360mm.
I'll try check the new Ranger's, it should be long, hopefully 2400+mm...

Did they move the inter-cooler again, no air intake on bonnet?

Seems the facelift of each model gets an air intake on the bonnet.

Can somebody explain why they change every time?

Greetings

Bit of Navara on the load bin, bit of Triton at the back of the cab, bit of Ranger on the centre controls, bit of ice trucks on the wheel arches

Can't wait to see it in real life!

Ranger - Length 1530 mm x width 1456 mm
Curent Isuzu - 2363 mm x 1621 mm
Amarok - length = 2205 mm x width 1620 mm (load sill height of 780mm)

Currently if you take the Amarok load sill height in cosideration compared to the other Single Cab's then the Amaroks loadbin is the largest = 2.53 square metre.

I owned a Izusu 2.8 DC and it was one of the best Bakkies I ever had

So this is a write up of the new Colorado, should be something samialar to the Isuzu.

Wonder what powertrains will come out in the Isuzu in SA.

Editor seemed a bit harsh.
Got the copy of an international site.

interior looks same as new 2012 chev trailblazer also hitting our shores soon

im starting to think we will also see the chev colorado soon seeing that it shares the trailblazer chassis and drivetrain and is to the trailblazer what the hilux is to the tuna

and the 2012 colorado is damn fine looking van ! or am i confuculated is the new dmax also based on the Colorado ? Not too many years ago ford/mazdas had two
very similar looking models on the market based on the same thing, maybe chev / isuzu will do the same ?

Manny was discussing the lengths of load bins but in total you can load less, although limited to a ton.

i do not think it will be long before isuzu wil break away from GM in terms of dealerships. This means that Isuzu(Commercial) will be on their own sharing platforms and Motors with Toyota and that will leave GM free to bring the Colorado as their 1 ton pickup with the trailblazer.

Would you sell the Rubicon for a Trailblazer? I'm asking because pretty soon I have to choose between the 2

sjoe thats a hard one

i went from a raider to ranger to landy to wrangler and the wrangler is by far the best ive owned, just so much fun to drive (especially with the top down) and then also the fact that its by far the most capable.

i do a lot of km's so was looking around at whats out there to trade the rubi in the next couple a months before it looses too much value (km/for the year model) and also i used to be one of the lucky ones that did not pay for fuel but we now get taxed on the fuel from feb this year and on a rubi the tax on the fuel alone is a couple a k a month with the kms that i do... 45k km last year

but i now decided against it, think ill miss the rubi too much so im going to keep her (for now ) and buy a another bike for commuting the savings on tax will pay for the bike and then i have another toy...for free and also keep the kms on the rubi down.

the 2013 wrangler looks super hot and i have my eye on that now porsche also has the new baby suv the macan coming dec that i love !! but that might be too rich for my blood so will see what that costs. its based on the q5 but i think pricing will be in line with evoque

for the price you will have to go far to beat this :
http://4x4community.co.za/forum/show...=2013+wrangler

i will also look at the sahara diesel, the rubi is overkill (for my purposes) and the sahara is also very capable from what i understand and the new diesel more economical

sjoe ok that was the long answer, the short one = no !

Thanx for your insight
I'm of 3 minds: new bakkie next year OR keep the bakkie + new Trailblazer or CRD Wrangler. Probably easier for now because I have never owned or driven a Wrangler I just dont know captain..............

OT, Sorry to the rest
