Nissans aren’t good piggy banks!!
Hi all,
Does anyone know how to remove the CD shuttle from a Nissan X-trail? My 3 year old son thought his grandfather’s CD player was a relatively good place to store his loose change. Think it must have been made by our local government…because as soon as it received the money it stopped working

I had the 2004 model and I googled the same topic and found the answer... it was very easy but can't remember now... it takes less than a minute if I remember correctly.

It’s a 2001 model…the one before the double DIN units were incorporated. I have tried to search on old faithful (Google) but could only find the instructions for the 2002 models onwards (http://www.fitaudio.com/?View=entry&EntryID=161). This requires you to remove the entire centre panel’s plastic and then unscrewing the unit. Would the procedure be the same for the 2001 models?

Just take it to a car radio shop.They know almost all cars and wont usually charge just to get it out,unless you have to remove panels etc.

Hi Mr Monster, do you want to remove the 6-disc shuttle or the headunit? For the shuttle simply unclip the left and right plastic moulds that form part of the dash console. Then simply unscrew and unplug. I found it easier to remove the ashtray and shuttle together as the bracket that they screw into holds everything nicely in place.
For the headnuit on the other hand i would have to send you the pdf, let me know if you need it.
