"So sit n mens vas....... in Richards baai

No way in hell I'd pay that. Then I rather play in the sand with my spade a bit longer. He's on an incline. Unless something broke, he should be able to unstuck himself eventually. And the bakkie looks kitted enough to be able to manage an overnight stay.

In Paris the local constabulary use only V6 Cruisers as tow trucks and push trucks. They have about 400 mm high flat front bumpers, wrapped around the front and these they use to push broken down Renaults, Peugeots and Citroens out of difficulty places and I've even seen them push double parked cars out of the way.

The French don't seem to complain getting their cars pushed like that. They are not allowed to use their handbrake when parking. If I come along and the parking space is too small for my car, I just put my car's nose in the gap and just push the front car forward until my car fits into the gap. The same goes when I get back and the cars have pulled right up to my bumpers.

You just push the other cars forward or backwards until you can get out. Most cars have bent number plates and severely scratched bumpers....

    Strange but true......

    Quite so.

Interestingly those tow trucks are just about the only Toyotas you see in Paris. I doubt if Toyota even have a 1% market share. Strange.

I saw very little in the way of non-French cars there, although there were a few Golfs and Nissans and the odd Mercedes Benz and BMW. I did however see more Toyotas than just the tow trucks; that were these small Toyota Aygo cars, something the size of the original Smart cars.

In the French Riviera (and Monaco) I saw a lot more luxury vehicles of other makes. A lot of small cars were in fact Smart for Twos and even Brabus versions of the Smart for Two, most of them driving around roofless. I will not say 'topless' as you may think I am confusing the models I saw on the road with the models I saw on the beach......
