Attempted armed robbery on bypass few days ago, small vehicle pulled over some german tourists. Passing driver saw what was happening and intervened, apprehending one of the criminals. Luckily no one was hurt, but tourists returned home after one day in nam.

Also a armed robbery at Dune 7 a few weeks ago.

Did the D1918 (Henties - Usakos) on Saturday morning. Man.....what an atrocious condition that road is!!!!!! It really is a disgrace.
There were sections I could barely maintain 40km/h!!!

Think I mighty have broken something on the 'Rok. Strange noise when I turn right (i.e. bakkie leans left). Will investigate over the weekend.

Graders along the C14 and a few other roads. Apparently grading contracts have been renewed (They apparently expired in June) and they will now get back on schedule. Received a letter from authorities this morning, but only the grading. Resurfacing will still be a while due to budget contraints.

Chris is this the road to Alexander bay via Oranjemund, or via Sendelingsdrif on the southern side of the Orange?

I live in Oranjemund. Yes, 14 October Oranjemund will be open to the world.
Probably the best way for a tourist to enter Namibia. Oranjemund is an interesting town and the river mouth is a great place to visit.
The new tar road to Rosh Pinah is a real gem - spectacular views from the road.

Hi I will be traveling from Mata Mata (KTP) to Sesriem on the 23rd December- could someone give me advice on the best route.
Base camp is routing me on the C15 to Gochas, then turn left on C18 then right on M29 to Mariental.
When I last traveled this route in 1987 I traveled via Stampriet to Mariental. Please help

According to facebook warriors the road Usakos via Spitzkoppe to Henties also in bad condition. Adviseable to travel via Swakopmund tar road / Salt to Henties.

    Thank you!

Corrugated I can do. Seems the D2612 is nasty then

Any of those roads very rocky? We have H/T tyres on the Prado.

Have the graders been over any of them recently?
