    Default LED Light Strips

If anyone is looking for 12V waterproof, flexible LED light strips, similar to the Lumeno make, being sold at Outdoor Warehouse and Campworld and advertised in most outdoor / vehicle magazines. Tisonics in Booysens, JHB have them at a reasonable price. The strips come in 5cm lengths with 3 LEDs per 5cm length. The strips are made up (cut and wired) to a length of your choice, attach to most surfaces using 3M double sided tape, the best on the market. The only disadvantage is that they do not have an On/Off switch, this you would have to put in; I am sure a normal beside lamp switch would suffice. They come in a variety of colours as well (red, green, blue, yellow and white).

The going rate for a Lumeno flexible 31cm or 9 LED is between R169-00 and R189-00. A 41cm or 12 LED costs between R199-00 to R219-00.

    The Tisonics strips cost:
    1)5cm @ R15-00
    2)10cm @ R25-00
    3)30cm @ R75-00 (18 LED)
    4)40cm @ R100-00 (24 LED)
    5)1m @ R250-00
    6)5m @ R1250-00

    Contact Tisonics on 011 493 3730.

Hi Witklipbank! Bought switches at Builders for R6-00 and In-Line Fuse holders for about R20-00 from Midas just to be on the safe side. So for about R100-00 you are kitted with the some decent lighting.

    Hi guys

Just a word of caution, they are not as bright as the Lumeno.

I have bought 1m from tisonics, but they are far from the same output as the Lumeno and also if you get to approximately the same lux, your current draw is also higher than Lumeno.

Is there a way that somone can test/verify this or is it "subjective". I have just bought a few strips (from AndyF of this forum) and installed it in my Commander.

I bought a strip with 6 lights recently at Outdoor Warehouse and it did have a switch. Installed it in the back of my Disco, running of the deep cycle in the back, with a fuse. It works well, but the adhesive tape is rubbish. Nothing that duct tape can't sort out though

    Post LED Light Strips

If you are pointing at the hella plug them yes those lumeno's will work just fine but you'll need to buy the male hella socket - I use 4 of them on my Echo 5 and they are fantastic!

    Default LED Light Strips

    Thank you ned&zed

Can I simply replace the plug that is fitted on the strip when I buy it? How long is the cable/wire that the light is sold with?

Maybe this will answer your question...

The white extention lead is available in various lengths up to 3m. The spliter chord has 4 outlets and the male hella plug fits into your trailers outlet. The leads on the light are around 20cm long.

Fox and Sons are suppliers under the Lumeno brand.

    http://lumenoled.co.za/led-light-products/accessories

Lumeno is a commercial member on the forum.

Outdoor Warehouse usually stocks a good range of LED cables, adapters,

Shop round for 5mm LED's they give better light, switches from electronic shop (lockable tag switch).
My version looks like this with a 3 way toggle switch and yellow heat shrink over it to chase the goggas.
    Off, 6 LED's and 12 LED's for portable ones
Stuck permanently to Echo on kitchen side with tag switch

Ok, so you have your lights for your canopy, question is, how do you fix/glue your wires for your LEDS to the body of the canopy/trailer??

What form of adhesive do you use??

I bought those light switches that are seen on the ODW led lights from ODW. Can't remember price, it looks similar to a bed lamp switch but smaller having a push button.
