Bloody tree just jumped out right in front of me.

    Enough off topic... I apologise.

I'm really thrilled that Paj2 is back to its old pristine self after our adventure.

My beasty got a service yesterday, and I'm sure it took them longer to clean it, than changing the oil and a few filters.

The PS is made for those D roads or perhaps the D roads are made for that Vehicle. I'm sure the PS raised its suspension in anticipation of the upcoming mud bath (or I got shorter).

In any event had lots of fun driving around in the mud and slush after the heavy rains. Very thankful for 4WD (4H). I did not disengage it until the Ultra city at Escourt on the way home.
Returned 9l/100km on the run down and up (towing a 5 foot trailer), obviously more while carting goods between PMB and Balgowan.

Only issue is that the SRS light came on (before the rough roads). Possibly I have dislodged a connector slightly as my seat was pushed forward a bit to accommodate a single bed base and other stuff under the seats. Hope its not dreaded clock spring.
What was your consumption on the up run?

It was around 9.2 . Vehicle obviously less a bed and some tables now, but trailer still full of my tools. I did keep speed to around 115KM/h.

My Indie is in Alberton, bit far from you, but he is a mechanic, not a parts replacer. Knows his stuff. If you ever need his details pm me please.

Refitted my DIY canopy and finally connected the power supply to the canopy for the lights yesterday. Also had the left inner CV reconditioned and it's boot replaced a couple of days ago.

Mine went in to the local Dealership for it's 40K service on Thursday. What a pleasure to deal with these guys here at Imperial Mitsubishi Kuilsrivier, especially the Workshop Manager, Lliewelyn Henn, not only did they replaced all the fluids, oil, transmission, transfer box and differential, but arranged for Dent Master to come to their premises to "roll-out" a dent on the drivers side i caused with the motorcycle's handlebar. No cost to me.
To further appreciate the newly serviced Pajero, i took the rock sliders off and resprayed both with Hammerite, one tin per side. Way to hot today to put them back, and any way, the Pajero looks so much meaner without them!!

Took my 'Jero to the Agents to have the front brakes skimmed.

    Again.

Was done at 30 000 km but I had not noticed anything funny.

At the 40 000 km service they told me I needed to have new pads but that those in there could still go. This they told me at 17h00. So I was screwed, couldn't actually leave the 'Jero there and me sleep there.

Shortly after that service the front brakes started to shudder. I persevered for another 5 000 km and decided enough is enough and took it in.

They had the discs skimmed and I was told it was the last skim they could do. New ones will have to be fitted next time. At 45 000 km this is highly questionable.

Service plan pays for everything. For now. But Dealers being dealers my suspicion is that, say these now last up to and beyond the expiry of the Service plan. Then me pays. Which I want to avoid.

In 42 years of motor car ownership I have had to replace discs once and that was on my Colt. At 200 000 km. So what is the game here?

And anyone know of a plan to stuff these in the next few months so I can get new ones??

    Cheers

Johan, does this Service require all the fluids to be changed?

It seems almost worth arranging a trip down there just to have service done!

Sometimes the only good thing that comes out of a visit to a Dealership:

A clean car. Yes I know, 4x4 owner's cars must remain dirty
