I see more and more people on this forum are also cachers. We might have come across each others caches at some stage and not realising it's a fellow community member. So, what's your caching names? I'll start the list.

Liewe blik!!! I'm struggling to get the time to reach 10 Last time we travelled past caches from here to Potch via Vryburg and back a different route, and couldn't even stop at one as I forgot my phone at home and swambo's phone's internet is very slow.

Sorry for a dumb quest but what is meant by geocatching is it taking photos of places visited and posting.

iPajero is the team with the most caches found in Africa, I met them at the MEGA GTG at Voortrekkermonument last year, very nice people. Oom Louwtjie (Louwtjie en vroutjie) now lives in George but is previously from Bloem is also very well known cachers in SA.

Hansie&Grietjie, I have come upon quite a few caches with your name on the logsheet, maybe even a few caches of yours. It's nice to know

Hunter26, sometimes the website is a bit difficult to navigate if you are new to it but right on the left there is a "learn" button. Take a quick tour.

I have known about caching for some time now and is very interrested in starting. Scanning the thred I dont see the question asked yet. What is a good all rounder gps for geocaching? Want to buy the right thing first time.

There has been a lot of debate on other threads. I used to swear by my Oregon 450. But nowadays, unless I'm in the boonies and battery life might be an issue, I just use my iPhone.

Phones work great yes. But like Simon says, the more you will cache battery life may become a problem and remember, caching with a phone in areas where signal is bad is going to be a problem.

I used to cache my first 500 caches with my el cheapo nuvi and that will tell you that it was not such a schlep.

Now I got an el cheapo Etrex. Now I stopped caching. Perhaps I should not recommend the etrex?

Kidding, I love the cheap etrex, also works great on the MTB.

Pahero I use a Garmin eTrex HCX, an older version, but all the ones in the eTrex series will work. They come standard with Geocaching features (since the whole thing was actually started by Garmin.)

I have found sometimes that the app and my phone GPS works just as well since you can open the location in Google maps.

Ahhh, thaught of using my galaxy s4 but was worried about accuracy. Think I will give it a try before spending money. Going to Mauritius in April and was hoping to find a couple caches there.
