Hi All, I found your forum while researching a new toy for my second midlife crisis, an off road trailer to get the family out in the sticks a bit. The Defender 90 is my daily drive, fishing vehicle, Dad's taxi etc. I still have a good feeling every time I get a compliment from fellow lovers of the brand at parking lots, regardless of the vehicle they drive. I look forward to learning more about our passion for all things off road and thank those that share valuable knowledge that so often helps the penny drop in our own problem solving excersises. I still haven't decided on the trailer but have short listed a few that tick all the right boxes.

    Good evening everyone,
    I am a "newby"!!
My name is Kevin McCormack and I live in Edenvale.
I need some advice please guys.
I have just bought myself a National Luna portable power pack that I intend using for my camping fridge/freezer and lights.
I now need to buy the battery for the power pack.
I have done a little investigation and it seems like a EV Traction Dry Cell battery would be the best buy.

    Any advice please guys?

Hi Kevin, welcome to the forum - may I suggest that you post this info in the Environmental & Conservation section, its a sub-section of the General 4x4 Discussion section? It'll be useful there.

Hello and welcome. Try asking in the jeep section. You need alot more than just a new propshaft. You need adjustable control arms. Upper and lower. I have one that is lying at home. If i put it in the jeep vibrates alot.

    Howzit guys.

My name is Toeks and I've got a springchicken Colt 4x4 2001 V6 with 398000km on the clock. I have my own workshop in Meyerton (ACD Vaal Motorsport) where we service and repair cars and trucks. Also have a dyno to do Unichips and software upgrades (Celtic Tuning Software). We do a lot of exhaust work as well, custom full exhausts and a lot of cat and dpf removals (can even do the latest VW 1.2 TFSI dpf removal and software delete).
I hope to learn a lot about my Colt and perhaps be able to help out some forum members when I can.

    Regards,
    Toeks.

Smile Re: Tips to new members!!

    Good day,
Been a member since 2012, sitting on the sideline watching and listening. I went on early retirement from the SABC (Sex And Booze Club) in 2014 as it was getting too Hlaudi for me. So rather than feel under the weather everyday, I opted to rather have a happy retirement. I do freelance as cameraman, editor and photographer. But have also scaled that down because I love doing my woodwork and just play around in the garage making camping stuff for my Discovery 2.
Thank you too all the clever guys out there. Luister en lees met groot oŽ!

    Dankie
    Hannes

    Hi

I am a long time reader of the forum from afar in the Uk. Now I find myself living here in Hoedspruit, SA.

I came to SA to develop an eco lodge. My property is in the bush with a 'mixed' access road ie its pretty rough! So my wife and i need 2 decent 4x4s to cart us and our family about.

I read advice on this forum, talked to friends and family for vehicle advice. I looked at Fortuners, Pathfinders, Pajeros following advice that I should look at Japenese vehicles for reliability.

But heart overruled head and my wife and I ended up with a 2005 110 TD5 and a 2010 110 Puma. Once i work out how I will post pictures!

Im sure now we have bought our vehicles we will become active members on the forum!!

Its already come in handy once or twice!

    Cheers
    Richard
