    Default A very new Newbie

Hi all thanks for a great forum. I came across the site while shopping/researching for my landy and joined straight away... but never had the bells to actually chat to anyone. not quite my nature.
But i have laughed my a.s off at the banter as to which 4x4 is the better.....awesome stuff. I also recently did some searches while prepping for a job in luderitz and which routes to take. Thanks for that info, good advice (sorry cant remember who it was, but yes did the fish river canyon route, absolutely stoked)

I am also going back to lesotho (spent 10 months working on a mine there) this Dec and cannot wait to do sani in my own landy, and not my bosses.

Take it easy during the silly season.

thanks for the great, no ego, advice from all the members.

    Hi Guys
Just been in Cape Town for a couple of weeks. The morning I planned to return to the south coast I noticed the red oil warning light and alarm sounding on my 2006 jeep laredo. To be safe I took it into jeep Claremont to check at 0715am on tues morning. What a shambles, no oil pressure gauge to test and really no concern for my plight(maybe they all just had the xmas feeling?). So through a contact took it into Mace Sercice Centre in Tokai . What a difference in attitude! Took them 4 days to sort out and I flew home meantime. Just another lesson to be prepared in case of emergency when you're in a strange place! MERRY XMAS TO ALL AND THANKS FOR A GREAT FORUM. Rgds Alan Terry Leisure Bay KZN

TIP: when you join the 4x4 Community Forum and you list 'lowering your vehicle for street drag racing' as one of your interests...you might be in the wrong place.

Here we wanna go up...not down.

Hi all. After surviving my Peugeot 307 for 10 years (it's still running) I'm ready to upgrade to a Disco 3. This forum has been a place of enlightenment as I'm clueless about 4x4s and the like. Decided to join as I keep coming back here for advice and information. Looking forward to learning a lot and heading into the open road this year once the Landy keys are in my hands.

I was so happy to be able and join, that I did not introduce myself
My name is Wynand (alias stcomza) and I'm from Cape Town, part of a manufacturing company, married, 2x dogs, 2x cats, 2x goldfish and bit of a petrol head. I really enjoy the information shared on the forum and the fact that members help each other out in need. Although I do not own a off-road vehicle now, when I decide to buy one I will know where to go for advice. (Yes, I'm a Mitsubishi fan...)

Hi everyone I am also a noob (new to the site) but have secretly been stalking the site for a while, I unfortunately only own a 4x2 but still love the dirt roads and anything and everything to do with nature. I stay in Krugersdorp and work in the IT industry.

Keep up the good work, this forum helped me to make an informed choice on a vehicle, hope I can contribute and be as usefull as everyone else.
