Hi everyone. Been a keen follower on 4x4community and started feeling real guilty about not registering ...... apologies, should have done so a very long time ago. So, hope I add value, I have had so much valuable info from you lot here over the years ..... skuld julle almal ....

Sound like a really good bunch active on the forums. Will figure out how to do the avatar and signature thingies .....

Currently have several vehicles ... 4x4 wise have a Jeep Commander 5.7 I use for touring and a forward control 2b that I have just started stripping for a complete rebuild into an overland camper...grrrr ... need all the advice I can get (except advice to throw away ...) and I probably need my head read.

Anyway, glad to have joined, look forward to lots more interesting chats.

    Cheers
    Johnny

    Default Introduction

    Hi everyone,
Been on the forum as a visitor many a time. Thought its time to show and become a member.
We, wife and me, are avid bundu travellers and have travelled Namibia end to end with still some unseen spaces.
We do this in a 2002 Disco td5 with the only mod being a centre diff lock added.
Hope we can help with requests regarding Namibia or possible queries on disco 2's.
    looking forward to the discussions.
    Regards
    Claus

    Post Greetings

Been a fan of this forum for many years just never subscribed. Also with folks on this forum I might just archive my goals a bit quicker and cheaper as I'm still learning from the more experience enthusiasts.

So who am I ? I live in Port Elizabeth owned a few 4x4,s today My first I bought when I was only 17. Here is my list.
    Nissan 720 ( tracker)
    Range Rover
    Free lander
    Isuzu 2.8 dc
    Jeep xj 4l
    Prado Gx 3 door (current)
    Ranger t6 ( current)
Been on some trails over the years and my most memorable trip was in my Prado doing the transkei eco trail. 8 days of pure enjoyment.
Planning a trip to Botswana for this year so hence me joining the forum to get some serious feedback regarding. I will get my bearing on this forum and post my q in due course. So catch Yu on the upswing. Later

    Hello!

I'm Rob, joined the 4x4 forum yesterday. Between my wife and I we drive a Golf 5 1.9 TDi (seriously the best car I've ever owned... That car has delivered 170k km with pleasure) and a Renault Duster 1.5dCi 4wd which we bought after my wife had a prang in her Vivo. I was shocked ho $$$$ cars have gotten!! The Duster is a little machine that has delivered well, apart from poor fuel consumption! We bought the Duster for me to use but with the higher consumption and longer commute my wife now drives it a lot more.

We're planning on taking the Duster on a road trip up from Cape Town through Baviaans along the Wild Coast and up to Sani enroute to family in Ladysmith and Bloem.

    Really looking forward to it.

I'm here to find some tips and other useful wisdom
