Default Where are aftermarket alarm units normally installed?

I have a Honda CRV which came with an aftermarket autowatch alarm that was installed at some stage, unfortunately and not surprisingly whoever the installer was did a terrible job installing it and I want to disable it by unplugging the control unit or cutting it's power, fortunately I do have the wiring diagram.

Before I rip half the dash out trying to find it where are the typical install locations that I can check first?
The alarm doesn't have any of the immobiliser features installed basically just a movement/door open alarm, is it safe to leave it installed but cut the power line/unplug the control unit?

The vehicle came with the alarm previously installed, so it's my baby now and I want it silenced

I took a chance and took the covers off next to the ignition and found the POS first try, unplugged everything and the alarm is deactivated and the car still works as before.
