    Default Speroni water pump

    So I bought a Speroni waterpump to pump water from my rain water tanks...how do you prevent the impellar from rusting?

    I don't think the impeller will rust ,it's meant for pumping water..
    If it does many happy returns and get them to replace it

    Brass impeller ?, they dont rust, but rust and from the body let the impeller got stuck if its not used a while, but not to worry about that, apart from to make sure that you dont burn the motor if it is stuck. Just releases the pump body bolts little bit, and start it again, if its running, tightened the bolts gain. Very limited tolerance on the gap of the impeller. Or let it run regularly. Mine burnt this weekend after maybe ten years in service. Worker started it and it probable did not run, and the overload probability also did not work after this long period.
