Default Where to buy a winch

Hi, wondering if anyone can give advice/ reviews on where to buy a winch.
Online purchase with postage is my best option if possible.
I have been looking at tmax and warn at the moment but open to other brands if recommended.

    Thanks.

I bought my winch through these guys http://boatssa.com/product-category/...runva-winches/
    Fast an efficient service.
Not sure if they send to Zim but worth a call / mail

    Cheers

    Thanks Wooky!
I will take a look. Not expecting them to send to Zim. I can order to an address in SA and collect.

Out of interest which one did you go for? Are you happy with performance etc?

Since it was going on an SJ410 I was looking for a small, lightweight, permanent magnet motor winch of ~4000 - 5000 Lbs.
I bought the 4500 Lbs with synthetic line.

Quality seems good. The winch hook was a bit small so swapped it out for a bigger one.
Only used it once so far so time will tell about longevity.

Okay Guys, so from Wookys advice i contacted BOATSAA and they recommended the RUNVA K8000 for R5618

The only other thing i have found close to this is the Tmax New X Power 8500 for R9073 from 4x4 Megaworld.

What are peoples opinions, is the Tmax worth the extra R3500??

any positives or negatives between them from experience?

Many Thanks. (both picture posted below)

If you can get a runva for that price, grab it. I have on (Dyneema rope) and it is really good. I have worked with wire rope winches and there is a huge difference.

I think the Runva winches are marketed under various different names around the globe and locally they look very much like the Ardenorff winches.
Quite possibly not quite the same quality internally as the T-Max but at the price I think they are adequate for occasional use.

Did a lot of net searching prior to buying mine and the Aussies appear to like them.

I replied on another thread about winches and the same one with adendorrf branding. Same thing in any case.
Been using one for two off years now pulling cars onto a recovery trailer. Not a single issue so far.
Does this more often than basically any winch fittted to a normal use 4x4 will be used and it has not missed a beat.
Go for it. That is dirt cheap.

Adendorffs doesn't sell rubbish. Cheaper but never nasty.

    Just my opinion.
