Hardly an implosion of the DA - it's the implosion of Patricia de Lille and her desperate attempt to cling to office. The administration is pretty rock solid, unlike most other administrations around the country, and that's what matters, not the politicking.

Can you give us an indication of cost?
but we have changed our gameplan by just taking half days and leaving by 2pm latest.
Business Express Paarl to Cape town R1290 per month. There is a similar service from Strand at the same price.
If you leave before 15:00 travelling is a breeze.

My one son, who also has a house here, regularly cycles to work in the top of town as there is a complete cycle track from Royal Ascot to town - it helps that he has a motorized bicycle! It is completely flat until you hit the city centre.
We are on the My-Citi bus route directly into town. At non-peak times (9:30 to 15:45) it takes about 35 mins into the centre of town by car.
Any idea on the bus commute time during peak?

He is in the process of renovating it completely and will be renting it out for about R15 000 per month - if you are at all interested.

There are normally a number of similar properties available for rent as Royal Ascot encompasses some 1 300 units

Woolies, very nice! Congrats to her and safe travels.
My wife used to do a LOT of business with them back when CT still had a decent rag trade.

    Nice one - welcome.

Try find out if she gets a parking space allocated. Street parking very expensive.

traffic out of that area is particularly bad, my swambo works at Truworths next door.

However, the major companies have been coming under more pressure to allow wider flexi times, so that might help.

Congratulations to your wife with the new job!

Skipped the third page of the thread...
Have you decided where to look for accommodation?

Both me and my wife works in the city centre so have a commute from Durbanville every morning...
We travel in two cars since the kids needs to be dropped off at the creshes...

Depending on what flexitime your wife can work living in the northern subs is quite manageable.. yes traffic is bad but heck I used to live in Ceres and work in Somerset west some years ago... That saw me travel 270km to work and back every day...

If you can start work at 6 and leave at 3 - 3:30 and don't mind getting up early then traffic is not all that bad!!

We're in a process now of asking for flexi hours extension in our company as well... I have heard more companies are starting to allow wider flexi hours...

You need to try get out before 4 if you can... it's become a bit of a mare lately...

    Congrats BTW!
If you decide to go West Coast accommodation wise, MyCiti is a definite option!

    Fixed my mistake...
was meant to be 3... even 3:30 is still not too bad...

Thumbs up Re: Possible emigration to the country of Kaapstad

Congratulations and welcome! I hope you'll find a place that suits you and be very happy down here. Dunno why, but I've always had the impression that Woolies would be a very pleasant place to work for. What type of work will you be looking for?
    There is only one...

There are quite a few Woolies and Truworths employees on the business express train. It is a 10min walk to/from the station. Train arrives between 7:45 (seldom) to 08:10, and departs promptly at 17:05. Brackenfell times: 07:00 and 17:45. Mostly reliable with alternative arrangements required about every 2nd month.

She won't have an allocated parking just yet, but gets a monthly allowance to help her find parking until she gets a spot

    Swambo is joining Truworths

flexi time with core hours of 9-15h30
