THE BUILD IS COMING ALONG NICELY.

I had the spring spacers and shocks fitted and fitted the body lift this weekend. Ran into a few problems. The 4 wheel drive gears were getting stuck, i think i know what the problem is. The transfer case relocation bracket has 2 bolts on it, which i think are too long. will strip next weekend and check out.

The big issue is that i cannot select 2nd and 4th gear with the gear console surround on, if i un-clip the surround then its no problem. Looks like i will have to either bend the gear lever or install an extended gear lever. Any advice here would be appreciated.

On the ride quality side, on the road she rides fantastic, i am extremely happy. will take her off road next weekend and see how she feels.

The dash was silver and in bad condition, so i sprayed it with regular spray paint, hope it works.

You can get shift lever extensions basically the same thread as the gear knob uses, screw off the knob add the extension to the shift lever and screw the knob the end of the extension.

Thanks for the reply. i require an extension at the base of the shift lever, not at the top.

Ah ok, that's a bit more expensive and complicated, hopefully not to hard to fit.

I will have to import that.

I will attempt bending the existing lever. Before i do that, i am going to try and moving the body back a little and see if that fixes the problem. Gonna be a busy weekend!!!

Slow down here. Much easier, free option.

Unclip the gear lever boot surround.
Trim the "rear"/"lower" bit of a surround and frame a couple mm.

Should give you enough clearance to get the bottom gears. I had the same issue when I did BL with a Motor Mount lift. Trimming the thing sorted it out perfectly.

These tyres so far are amazing, the road noise is minimal, very surprising for MT. They cost R3650 each.

    Final Version!!!

    So my thoughts so far:

I am amazed at the ride quality, i honestly expected this vehicle to ride crap!! She is not as unstable as before the lift. I had to kind of learn how to drive her again tho.

I would love some comments on the following please.

Forgive me if i sound ignorant. The Jeep comfortably managed 120k/m at 2900 RPM before the tyres were fitted. Getting to 120km was easy with no effort. Now she still does 120km at 2900 RPM but it takes ages to get there and doesn't maintain that speed easily. Clearly the bigger tyres are the cause. My question is the following:

    1. Will changing my diff ratios assist me in getting to cruising speed quicker?
    2. Does a Decat and a 63mm free flow assist with performance?
    3. If i decat, i am told that i may have a problem with the engine management light staying on, does anyone know anything about this?

i am not looking for a pocket rocket, but i would like the Jeep to cruise comfortably and maintain 120km.

I will be fitting the winch soon, i am concerned that this added weight may further limit performance.

i look forward to all your comments.

Lol the old wheels which weren't small look like marie biscuits in comparison

Looks awesome, I would imagine adjusted ratios would help, higher revs though I'm assuming to go 120km/h. How does adjusted ratios affect the engines sweet spot relative to your typical day to day driving, what is the power curve like on this vehicle like?
