All true, and that is why I am not trying to condense a complete course into a forum thread, that's just heading for disaster.
As a starting point, do a course. Almost any course is better than nothing. After that, read, interact and practice. But fiddling with all the knobs without some understanding of what they do is counter-productive.
1996 Patrol 4.2SGL with lots of stuff to make it heavier and thus increase traction?

Dit sal n nuwe wreld vir jou oopmaak. Sterkte.
As the Hoff said, your aperture is wrong. for landscape you looking at anything from F8 upwards usually. I attached my cheat sheet I used initially when I got going with my first DSLR. Also if you don't have time for a course, the likes of Canon and have online training, the principals are the same, whatever camera you using. And of course YouTube is inundated with guys showing how its done,

Thanks a million for the cheat sheet. I figured that is what the camera is doing with the ISO, F-stop and shutter speed and this is just a confirmation of that. I will definitely have a look at stuff on YouTube as well.

Bv.

Depth-of-field is jou vriend as jy landskappe neem. Now the limitations of thine equipment.
