    Default Kamp in Xai Xai

Nou my idees strek net sover.

Probeer hierdie plek. Bespreek deur Moz Conn:

Thanks Jelo, looks like i have it narrowed down to one of the following:

    Montego resort
    Sunset beach resort
    Paradise Magoo

The other 2 are a bit further away but it depends on where we get space available.

I have mailed them all about availability, Anyone with first hand experience?

And then is parking on the beach still permitted in these areas? (I was there in 2003 when beach driving was all the hype)

first find out before you try it.............the Moz cops WILL confiscate your car and/or chuck you in jail and/or fine you BIG TIME

beach permits are available from the nearest municipal office, but the resort owners will know what the rule is

Heard back from Sunset beach lodge, they have a parking permit, so you can drive to the beach and park your vehicle, but not beach driving is allowed. Makes sense to me, as long as we do not have to carry everything 200m.

White Sands at Barra is very nice. But a bit far if you have small kids.

Only in the south, my main concern is the border crossing at komati...Im considering going through Swazi, but not sure if that will be quicker?

The police is always going to be a issue, but i think having the right attitude, obeying their laws, and not speeding should get us far.

To be brutally honest with you, if we dont go the Xai Xai route we will probably go to Sodwana. But im not really looking forward to the permit system.

My hope is actually on a cancellation at Malongane

Probeer Highlander Fishing Lodge in Bilene.

    https://www.facebook.com/highlanderfishinglodge/

Remember the golden rule: no beach for small kids between 10h00 and 15h00 unless you enjoy treating sunburn and heatstroke.............

@jelo Not sure what gave you that idea but there is no kids in the picture yet

Thanks for the suggestion Louw, but there is not much mention of camping, or location of where the camp is situated on the FB page

I can also recommend Montego Resort for camping. It has a manned gate and reasonable ablutions. Just watch out for the monkeys. The adjacent Sunset Beach Resort has however, in my view, the best restaurant.

About 40 k's past Xai-Xai you get the turn-off to a very charming resort called Nascer do Sol.

We also enjoyed our stay at Zavora Lodge further along the coast, just on the other side of Inharimme.

Plenty of beautiful spots along the coast!

They have space at Sunset Beach Resort at which seems like a reasonable place. (Still waiting on the others to respond)

Now the big question, we want to book in on Friday the 15th of December.....so this will be chaos at the Komati border. What would you guys recommend?

Is it worth the time (200+km detour)of going through Swaziland (Jeppe's reef/Goba)? Or should we just take on the Komati traffic?

Last time I went to Moz through Swazi it was a breeze.
Komatipoort crossing can get very busy.

But does it warrant a 200+km detour? I'm trying to weigh my options here

Ek ry self weer Desember op Inhambane toe daar by Guinjata gaan kamp by Cumbini .

Komati is easy and quick these days.

Make sure you have all your papers 100%, including the 3rd party stuff, proof of ownership etc. The normal.

45 minutes on a busy day.
Not really worth going via Naamacha.
