They don't know who you are either!

A few years back a female friend said "Did you hear Tom Cruiser & Nicole Kidman have split?"
(Tom & I are the same age).
I replied "Why would I give one iota of a damn about that?"
She said "You don't have to be nasty, I think it's sad they broke up".
So I asked her "Two months ago Cheryl & I broke up, do you think Tom Cruise gives a damn?"

Also, when Christopher Reeves fell off that horse & was paralyzed.
At a braai people were saying how sad it was.
So I asked what they felt about Ganbold's accident.
    They asked who he was.
I said "I dunno, but there was probably a young guy in Mongolia with a name like that that who fell off a horse & got paralyzed, you don't seem to care about him.
And that's even worse because Ganbold doesn't have Reeve's money & access to health care".
They all agreed that they didn't care for Ganbold as they don't know him.
Pointing out that they don't know Christopher Reeves either didn't help...

You mean to say you did not cry when Lady Di's funeral was live on TV.
I feel the same to a degree, nobody cared when my Parents died.

    So true.

To me you "rub shoulders with with famous people" when you are out and don't spot them, they come over to greet you, much to the surprise of of the people you are with. Even surprised me at times.

In 2015 I met Eddie Redmayne on the tube in London. I recognised him, and asked him for directions, and we got to chatting. Very nice bloke.
In April this year I briefly spoke to Amy Adams at Universal Studios in LA. We were on the same roller coaster and after the ride I greeted her and told her I was a fan of her work. She told me that I was a long way from home, but that she was actually keen for another "safari" in SA.
A few years back I also met an inebriated Richard Hammond, who didn't really seem to know where he was, but seemed to be having a lekker jol nonetheless.

Spend some time with Charlie Boorman in 2005 (bike trip), know Wade Young and talked to Graham Jarvis once. Oh... And I know the Pretoria office (Gauteng) Surveyor - General quite well.
Some people think Enduro Bikes is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude!I can assure them its much more serious than that
