Default The shocking truth about the JSE

While we are on the subject of what to do with retirement funds, plse read this article from Moneyweb written by Magnus Heystek who is an investment strategist at Brenthurst Wealth.
I have found his press releases to be well researched and very informative.

Unfortunately anywhere else is better than here so the sooner your money is taken out of the hands of these guys the better.
If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right. SJ

while on the subject, the concept of retirement is quite new- and a Marxist one at that.

this article delves into it and the future of retirement - which does not look viable in the future.

    Couple comments.

There are actually very few countries in the world that have no capital controls. In many cases the controls are not clearly visible. Our current restrictions are relatively minor for a man on the street, e.g. honest salary earner. Currently there are no restrictions on well connected. I spoke with somebody who knows details couple days back. If the next Number One allows laws to be used very many people are in serious trouble.

In the article there is one graph. Especially sales people use such graphs to promote what ever they are selling. The main trick is the selection of the starting date. In this case it is from 2012. An other issue is in which currency...

The currency matters. Long term Returns should be measured in $, not ZAR
You should measure returns in Dollars. since you end up paying for everything in dollars anyway.

Work in the first world will become less and less, a 20 hour work week is not far away.
The fourth industrial revolution will make machines do what humans do now.

The big question is what to do with the people, how to entertain them and what to do with all the migrants this will definitely create.

Society as we know it and the rules thereto are changing fast.

interesting debate to be had there- if in the literal sense by paying/receiving in dollars- you are subjecting yourself to US criminal jurisdiction ( if deemed illegal)
