Thanks Coenraad. Good to hear how some ARE going to long lengths to save water.

ORXY - my cars are clean. But it cost me almost 3k for a small system to catch rain water, and a pump to be able to wash my cars.

Back in the day, probably, but these days, whatever works fastest and cheapest.

Brandy is also Ethanol, but is is distilled from good wine in a certain way and the aged in oak to get the right color. then you get fortification Ethanol / alcohol that is distilled from wine that is not the correct quality to bottle - in the wine industry called "Stookwyn". The stookwyn is distilled and but in plastic or stainless barrels and used for fortification.

So basicaly if you did put this ethanol in oak barrels you would be able to age it to resemble a sort of brandy....

As long as it had a grape in it's past, I am happy. I wonder how many people realise that 80+ % of all the vinegar consumed in this country is made by SASOL in Secunda from coal and gas.

How much did it rain in Cape town yesterday? It seemed quite good rain on some FB pictures that I saw.

Looked good .... but a total of less than 15mm over the last couple of days - in Bellville .... (I needed 16mm to fill my new 1 000 liter tank, this is still only half) Hopefully other areas got more water.
