    Update.
Got door rubbers and some other small goodies from Volkspares.
6v battery from Battery factory shop in Alrode for R2300. Slowly fixing up small stuff but keeping everything original.

    Hi Coenoes
Volkspares is sometimes a little expensive, but they carry good spares and are very helpful. 6 volt batteries are scarce, and I've been told to look after your battery you need to get a good charger and keep it on trickle charge when not using. Please keep us posted and pics. I will still pop in one day and check your progress.

Can't remember the company name now....but in PE they used to rebuild the 6v batteries for relatively cheap.

Phoned them last week for my car, but apparently they have stopped doing it.

It is 70 Ah. They also have 110 Ah apparently for some vintage Fords. Same price.
Volkspares wants R2900 so I guess R2300 is a less bitter pill. Amazing to think the battery is now almost double what my dad bought the car for new.

Took off the 4 fenders and bonnet for respray. Cleaning the front suspension and replaced fuel hose on bottom of tank.
Engine started easily and is running smoothly .

That looks like so much fun. Are you stripping the body completely, removing windows as well?

No. This is as far as I will go. The body is very good. I'm only going to respray the removed wheel fenders as they were poorly fixed in the past.

Nice, just please go buy decent car stands, bricks are rubbish for the job and cars are heavy when they fall on your hand/foot/head.

Hi. The rear is standing on proper stands. The front is on bricks but it is so light I actually picked it up by hand when my son pushed the bricks in.

Make sure they match the paint right, they must have a panel with native paint that's had all oxidation polished off to match off.

I took the engine door off so they can use it to match the paint.
