Show me a tyre, and I will show you a thread about somebody being unhappy with them...

    Indeed....

It makes you wonder why with the rapid increase in technology and knowledge, all - or at least one - of the tyre manufacturers can't produce a tyre perfect for every load condition, every road condition, every driver, every vehicle, all the time....

I mean, how hard can that be....!!!

Form an informed non-biased non-opinionated committee from the boisterous and vocal members of this forum, blend the ideas together, press the go button on the machine, and hey presto, Bob's your uncle, everyone has a tyre that will do 200 000km without ever aquaplaning or losing grip on a tar road, granite face, digs powerfully up dunes and through swamps, and is rated at 200km/hr at which speed it is noise and vibration free....

Include me out of that committee, there is just too much humour, wit and repartee in all of these threads and posts....

Why not try Kelly Safari ATR or the Firestone ATX? Less hoohah and less hype, but they are solid tyres that work well, will give you great service and will last a long time. And they don't cost an arm and a leg.

We started at 1.2bar but dropped to 0.8bar.

I store the tires off site and could unfortunately not attach a pic but thanks for your many useful comments and views which has given the issue a lot more perspective. Dirk,Steveharris, Gheco and some others have nailed the issue for me - expected more for the price you paid, occurs with other brands too, no perfect tyre for all, tires are more than often (fashion statements)personal, there are other cheaper worthwhile alternatives etc etc.
Next time I will indeed think again........

Read LOTS of tyre review sites before you buy a tyre for any vehicle!

Before parting with R10k for my KL71s, I spent 2 weeks on international tyre review sites. I found a total of 1 complaints, and that was about it being to firm. Till this day, a KL71 complaint is very rare. Thats not bad going in my opinion.
