    Default Tall people and Trailers/Caravans

    Hi there
    I am 2m tall.
we found my wife's perfect trailer, they promoted it to us on the 2.1m awning poles, when I went to finalize the deal they said they can't do sidewalls for that height.
It is tough finding a product that suits guys like me.

Shorter people don't have the same perspective as tall people, which is why I need tall people's suggestions please

Buy the trailer and ontact Romeo at Alloutdoors to make you what you need in terms of poles and side panels.

So ..... Which trailer did you get?

Did you have a word with Bush Lapa re bed extensions?

Did you have a look at the Afrispoor Cheetah & Serval specs?

    I fully respect your choice!

I am just curious to know what the deciding factors were .

    Hi
Everyone has been closed. I have found out prices though, and have decided to search for a cheap (less than R100K) 2nd hand version of what we want and then follow the advice on the previous 2 replies to this thread and customize t0 suit my height.
The reason for the cheaper version is because I could not force myself to butcher a brand new unit.

If I still receive a reply here from someone who knows of a "plug n play" for tall people, I will jump to that research.

For the moment, scouring Gumtree, OLX, Junk Mail and any other classifieds for something around R100k; and contacting manufacturers if they have received trade-ins at the right price.

Speak to Henk and Jenny on the forum - they will make you up sidewalls to your specification!

For tall people, get a clamshell RTT (or the Bundutech electric jobbie) on an aluminium canopy with side doors into which you can build aluminium shelves for kitchen and clothing cupboards.
Lighter on fuel, less problems than to tow and easier to live out of as you basically have a set up time of less than five minutes.
Without adapting to anything it will probably cost you less than the 100 grand you are expecting to pay before modifications.
    Good luck with your decision.

You don't need to compromise, most trailer top tents are 1.95 long by 1500 wide. It is relatively easy to change the width to 2m or even 2100. The trailer you stick under the tent is not important.

Your main concern is going to be getting hold of a tent where the door is more than 2m high, I am not awar of anything suitable at the moment. When it comes to fly sheets one can extend he poles to 2050 without having too much of an issue and custom making the side walls are doable although expensive.

We have spoken before so come see me and I will assist you to have your dream holiday trailer, whatever make you decide on.

Camping is the answer, what's the question?

Slabeye, I am 'only' 1.98m, and we have a Makro jobbie with a Tentco TTT. And inside there is more than enough space. As said above, the door is the only place where I have to bend down, but I am used to bending down anyway. If you do find a better solution, please post as I might be interested as well.
