    Default Tent cover

I want to put something over the front tent's roof of the Commander to reduce the heat generated on te tent. One option is the reflective sheets (laminate or painted) being sold at a huge cost or shade cloth. Any recommendations?

Jaco, take your measurements, decide where you want eylets to be inserted, and then go to SA Shade in Brackenfell, in the same road as Good Hope Spares and Fastener Warehouse, towards the Hypermarket side in the road.

They will make you a reflecto sheet cover at half the price than what you will pay at OWH or the caravan shops.

Thank you for this. Just purchased canvas tents and they are like ovens in the heat - I cannot explain the heat that radiates inwards from the canvas. It is unbearable and no fan will work for the kind of heat I'm talking about.

Just visited SA shade website and asked for costing, so a big thanks to you @Blackie - you have saved my camping experiences. +1.

Waiting for a cost on 9m X 3m reflecto cover.

Not yet, now dealing with a company called all outdoors. SA Shade never came back to me? Been chatting to a chap named Romeo (owner) and he has given me some great advice and solutions.

Take a look at their site:

10 years ago at the coast, 10% of the caravans had silver tarps.
This year maybe 90% in Hartenbos and Mossel Bay had them !
There is no task too simple for some people to complicate !

Geesh, that's a great price from SA Shade. Have you by any chance got a contact number? They never got back to me, and weren't answering calls.

This is the costing and part of the response I got from All outdoors. Thought it was quite expensive.

8m x 3m ( this may end up being a 2.6-2.8m wide sheet if you want it to look neat and tidy)

    RIPSTOP FOIL = R 4,400

    Thermo Crylic = R 3,500

As you can see the 8m x3m sheet is pricey ( m2 driven )
    7.5m x 2.6m

    RIPSTOP FOIL = R 3,550

    Thermo Crylic = R 2,900

Here's an image of ripstop foil for my setup (NOT my setup), but it looks untidy and not too classy, but with the heat I'm at a point to consider it. Thoughts?

    Ripstop foil sal duurder wees.
Sover my kennis strek verkoop SA Shade nie die ripstop foil nie.
