    Default Trailer lid gas struts

I'm stuck . Trailer lid has 2 solar panels total about 25 kg and the lid has steel frame Table holder . Let's say total weight to support with lid say 100kg. I've had a couple of Gabriel 4000 struts which are not up to the job and have asked around dealers , etc and 4x4 shops but everyone looks blank on this one ! Where can I get something which can adequately do the job ? I have standard fixed stays made with the non-standard trailer but not safe themselves . Would appreciate help

In CapeTown, the Bosch agents sells and charges Gabriel gas struts.

    Try Bosch up there...

Easy if you weigh roof and sketch angles and travel etc. Ask Gabriel/Bosch for correct spec.

They will pressurise the gas lifts to your need, while you wait.

Here's your answer. I got a pair of struts for my Jeep's tailgate from them, under R300 vs. R1,000 for other non-OEM prices I got from various other places.

bought a pair of gas struts, 1000 Nm from a caravan shop as I had the same problem with my trailer lid after fitting the TTT plus all the other stuff on top of it.

It is now easy to lift the lid up with everything on top.
