Glad you had a safe journey.

I predict that after enjoying friends and family and your home town for a while that the call of the wild will be too strong to resist and your will take a quiet trip to CKGR.

I have posted the final few installments of our journey home, the details of the border crossings, places we overnighted and a few stats. As time goes by I plan to post summaries and guides as to what equipment worked and what turned out to be superfluous etc.

I also have many thousands of photos to sort through, edit and post in the blog gallery section.

Just to say I really appreciate the feedback from those indicating that they have been following the blog. Without that one can feel that one is posting from the huge void that is Africa into the void of cyberspace and that nobody is being reached. If I had known how much time and effort a blog entails I might have hesitated in even starting it.

Welcome back Stan and Anne! You have entertained and amused many followers with your travel diaries and fotos. Many a night I felt I had to check in with Stan and Anne to make sure you guys were still safe. We also worried when we did not hear from you for some stretches and rejoiced when the next post came in saying all is well and you "even" had fun. You quite literally widened yours and our horizons and we thank you for having taken so much time and effort in writing and posting to the cyber world.
Personally, I will use your tips for a planned self-drive to the Mara region soon.
Many thanks and so glad all went well and you are home safely. Enjoy!

Elize, dit is 'n baie goeie gedagte. My dogter trou middle April so ons sal miskien vry wees.

Ek sal sien!

Congratulations, Stan and Anne, on a terrific adventure and getting home safely. Enjoy electricity at a flick of a switch, water on tap and all the luxuries that we often take for granted. I hope it isn't too much of a culture shock after life on the open road.

Thank you for your nice comments and it has been a pleasure "knowing" you both over the ether. Perhaps East Africa will see you both again?

All the very best and do keep in touch if you ever venture north of the Zambezi again.

    Thanks W.W. and Peter,

Home just over a week now and really enjoying all the small things one takes for granted in a fixed abode.

Over the next while I plan to post summaries but this may not be too soon. I also have the mammoth task of editing all the photos and posting them in the blog gallery.

I would be very surprised if East Africa has seen the last of us.
