Hi Natoburgoffer.

Need some assistance on Nissan VG 30 Cambelt 1996.

The mentioned vehicle cambelt snaped on low revs.

Need to know if it will bend valves and if we can only replace the cambelt.

The specific vehicle has done almost 300000 km on the engin.

Can anybody assist.

My sons Nissan VG 30 cambelt broke.

Will it bend valves or damage the pistons or can we just replace the broken cambelt and start the engin.

Almost cheaper to put in an imported VG30.

It'll cost R10k per head for repairs..............

Think I need to do the same as what KobusDJ did.
Have open the top part of timeing cover, belt have snaped completely.
Have made a pulle to remove cranck pulley

Just seems if there are no compression as the bottum part of the engine turn very easy with plugs in.

For a engine with 300000km on it I think when will need to do a complete overall.

The left bank cam has a play on it when its on the timeing mark about three to four teeth.

Will remove the heads this weekend and see whats the damage.

Hi ...got that motor from Razor for free....hence it is yours for free...
I was goin to strip it and refurbish but have no time as rellocating....heads would need new seal and basically be done at an engineer [also pressure tested]..and will need rings...basically take the part that you need and reswanks them up...have not touched it since I brought it back to my place.

Can any body assist or has any body done the conversion.

Will a VG33 engine fit directly into the place of the VG30 with out any changes to the computer or bell housing.

Hi...stick with the vg30. ..cheaper to fix and same power really....and part availability is easier for the vg30...

Hi there

I need to replace the bearings on my Nissan 2.7td 4x4 gearbox.
whats the best way to remove the box, should the box and transfer case be split first. How difficult is it to replace the bearings.

It is easier to remove the gearbox prior to splitting the gbox and transfercase.

I would jack the vehicle and put trestles in at the front if you are doing it on the ground.

Loosen the Torsion Bars and remove relevant cross members.

Take note it is not an easy job.

I would rather send the gbox to a reputable gbox repair shop.
