Default R511 from Brits to Thabazimbi

Hi, can someone please assist. We are going to Thabazimbi on Friday and would like to find out the road condition between Brits and Thabazimbi. We are travelling from Randburg and the last time I travelled that road, about 2 years ago, it was not a pleasant road. Thanks

Been traveling that same road for a couple of years now and in my opinion it has always been bad and will probably always be bad. Also driving that way on Friday. Safe journey!

I drove it a couple of weeks ago. It is not that bad, and may even be in a better condition than the last time you drove it as the serious potholes have been fixed. However - care should still be taken and the road still has about two bad bits if my memory serves.

The first bit is about 15km from Brits and lasts up until about roodekoppies dam.
Although it is a very bumpy ride, there were no potholes last time I drove. However, there has been rain here subsequently and this may have changed.

After that it is ok fine for a while. The next bad bit is closer to Thabazimbi (not sure how far) and lasts a few kilometres. Watch out for smallish potholes more or less where your passenger wheels will be.
