    Default burnco bumper

Has anyone fitted one of these to a gen 3 pajero or other 4x4? And what do you think of them? Good bad or ugly? Note the R7750.00 price thats not bad

All Burnco bumpers are incredibly strong. I've seen a few around town on Pajeros. Ask Hein about the suspension. He will know.

    Hi Tiaan

I fitted one, and I had cooling problems as the burnco bumper closes up a good portion of the radiator which was open to airflow before. My pajero now runs hotter than normal; I have a madman EMS2 to monitor my coolant temp so I can easily see what is happening. I had it back there and had them cut slots in the bumper to allow more air in which seemed to help. It easily runs at 92-97 instead of 84-88 deg C now, I had my madman screaming at me (105 deg C) on a 38 deg day with aircon on at 140kph. I might need to have my radiator rodded or chemically cleaned as my pajie is 13 years old and the radiator might be a bit clogged by now and not as efficient as it should be.

See my post here on the POCSA forum.

Other than that it is a great bumper, and fantastic front clearance, just need to do my rear bumper now which is has much more exposed tupperware.

I have a mate who recently got a burnco put on the front of his triton... Truly awesome hardware! Definatley on my wishlist! Super strong and insane approach angle. He had the top loop slightly tapper inwards which in my opinion makes a huge difference visually!

    Mad Manny,

    + 1

Also heard a lot of filler is used. So a small scratch can turn into something nasty to fix...I assume.

I'm also not sure if using filler is the norm?

We have a similar one fitted to my dads cruiser.. Bought it in raw metal finish and too it to the powder coaters ourselves.. no putty used.. tough as nails.. Only the shaped Hilux (Vigo) one is finished with putty to get the angles right.

Good to know, suppose only the "fancy" rounded shapes will need putty to finish off properly.

Normally the Burnco bumber nudge bar atop the bumper is made with 90degree angles. As you can see here, my mate had the bar slightly angled, which to my mind makes the design visually much more appealing.

W.R.T filler being used...these Burnco's look strong enough to plough through brick walls, really it seems close to military grade panzer steel, which explains the weight. I cant tell you that no filler is used although from what I have seen, if it was my wallet paying, it would be a Burnco!
