    Default Key access Discovery 2 td5 2004

Help I can't get into my car. The remote isn't unlocking the doors and the key doesn't seem to work either?
    Pay it forward.

Ja I used it yesterday everything was fine! I never had to open the door with just the key before though so not sure why it just turns...no resistance to the key hence not opening.

Fortunately it's parked at home so unless I managed to steal someone else's I'm sure I've got the right car.

I think it turns without resistance because it is "superlocked". So how to get it out of superlock without a working remote? Don't you have a spare remote?

    Superlocking
Provided all the doors are fully closed, the
    Superlocking feature is activated automatically
whenever the vehicle is locked using the remote
    handset. Superlocking immobilises the interior
door handles, thereby preventing an intruder
from gaining entry by smashing a window and
reaching inside the vehicle to operate the door
    handles.
Note that locking with the key will not activate
    superlocking.

Spare remote doesn't work either. If the battery is dead and I have a knackered lock that doesn't open with a key how can you pop the bonnet o check the battery from the outside?

Do the indicator lights flash when you lock/unlock with remote?

    Just joking

This is a big problem. Sounds likely that the battery is dead then.

Is there any way you can get a charge onto the battery?
Can you open any of the other doors?

Otherwise you might be able to open the bonnet somehow by accessing the release cable ?

I'm gonna have to see how to get under the hood, almost certain it has to be the battery.

In Fourways. Fortunately this isn't my only vehicle so it'll have to wait until the weekend when I have daylight to work with.

    From Australian LRO:

"Grab another battery & jumper leads.

Crawl underneath and attach jumper lead to starter motor main power.

Attach negative to body. Then attach leads to the battery.

Now try and open doors and take it from there."

That's awesome thanks I'll give it a try this weekend or if I manage to sneak out of the office at a decent time this week.

Just be very carefull that you do not touch the small bolt on the startermotor aswell. It will jump forward when in gear. Connect to the donor vehicle last, just to be safe and out of harms way. If it is an automatic, then you will be fine. Good luck!
