    Default Kruger in August

    Hello
We always have a perfect holiday in Southern Africa thanks to the info and tips of the community.
After a decade we back to the Kruger always in August (European holidays).
We were going to do a week from 15 to 21 moving from north to south changing campsite daily, preferably without a booking so that we can move freely.
When we were 10 years ago, we found not many people in August Hut and Chalet full but we thought it was not the same for camping.
However, looking at the availability of campsites in SANParks I saw that some are already fully booked in August (Balule, Shinawedzi, Lower Sabie, Crocodile and other ....).
Possible? It is therefore impossible Kruger in August without booking?
Must always go out in the evening and entry in the morning?
If SANParks is fully booked there are other ways to book campsites.

    Thanks
    Giorgio

Bookings usually opens a year in advance, so booking in time is essential. We never had problems for bookings(camping) for August/May/October.
Just keep your eye on their site, there might be cancellations.
    I won't risk visiting without a booking.

I would not risk going without booking beforehand.
Just check which camps are open for camping - http://www.sanparks.org/about/news/default.php?id=55451

7 days for doing KNP from north to south is a bit short, you are going to do a LOT of driving (but that is what you are here for)
We did the same trip 2 years ago in December, but had 15 days.

I would suggest: Punda, Tsendze, Balule, Satara, Lower Sabie, Berg en Dal.
Then you can spend 2 days at either of the last 3 to rest and relax a bit.

Are going to rent a camper van?

Yes i have rent a CamperVan (Trax Kea)
    Ihave only 21 Days:
    2 Marakele
    2 Mapungbwe
    7-8 Kruger
    1-2 Swaziland
+ some days to the sea, i think KosyBay and Santa Lucia Area....after some holidays in Bot and Zim my wife want some days at the sea...

In Kruger I thought the same campsite that you suggested but Lower Sabie is fully booked in August...better skukuza or crocodile?

I have also a short visit at the cheetah sanctuary De Wildt ...you know any good campsite in that area? ... that is the day we arrive at the airport and do not have much time available

    Thanks

    Ciao

I don't like camping in Skukuza at all, much too busy.
Rather try for Berg en Dal or Pretoriuskop
