    I thought it was watermelon. My mom says it some kind of weed.

    Got the leaves like a watermelon...I would say it is, just immature perhaps?

    There is a name for this that I don't think I would like to publish publically, as I might be persecuted for a certain section in the name.

    It is indeed a type of watermelon, but it does not become sweet like the normal watermelons that we know/buy.

    These are very common on the farms in the Northern part of the West Coast - they are common on the farmlands.

    PS: they make "jam" from the plant's fruit! (the watermelon looking fruit).

    From what I have heard it is or was called " Sam's jam" in Namibia for a while

    Die plant het paar name in verskillende tale sien ek. T'sama is die khoi-san weergawe, makkataan in Sotho en in die vorige bedeling was dit ook 'n kafferwaatlemoen genoem

    When it is ripe it is much yellower - a friend who grew watermelons gave me one and I had no idea that it wasn't the pink one. Got a shock, but then I realised afterwards that she makes jam with them.

    Lyk my verskillende areas het verskillende naam. Die ouens in die Kaap het hom seker geproe voordat hulle hom 'n bitter boela genoem het

    We knew it as a pigmellon,but commonly known as a k.....mellon.Good for mellon jams.If u on a survival situation u can eat it like waiting for swambo to cook u supper.
