The pictures are deceiving and a human eye is a funny thing. A small increase may look small on a picture but to the human eye it makes a huge difference.

The ATV spots make a difference in loooong reach. The light bar makes a huge difference is close to medium reach.

The light is a huge improvement with the bar. Had I known before, the light it gives, I would have been prepared to pay more for the light bar.

I have never bumped my nose off roading and I have been through some serious stuff. Air suspension gives better approach and departure angles than most.

I don't like the extra switches etc. in the cabin. I like the touareg as a luxury vehicle with all the automation. Auto wipers, auto headlights, auto climate control, auto suspension levelling, auto cruise control, auto gearbox

I doubt I will get hassled about the lights. Mostly it will be used at night when (most of) the cops are talking nonsense at the caltex eating pies or looking for drunk drivers (the main problem in East London at night). During the day it's not an in-your-face fixture.

I must say that I have only received good service and courtesy from the traffic cops in East London. I can't say that they will be unreasonable or try to make an easy dollar by checking out your lights (which makes the road safer)

Besides, my car is always full of dust and dirt from the farm road so I will tell the copper I use it for safety reasons due to all the bushbuck and duiker on the road. Which, in part, is the truth!

I graciously received a new set of pads and discs (fronts and backs) for the touareg from an owner that sold his touareg and never got to fit the parts.

I paid him with a bottle of Chivas as he didn't want cash.

Here is a little video I made of the front left. 30 minutes packed into 1 min.

The handbrake is a drum brake to my knowledge. Never use it. Works ok.

N skuifrem met klein drom binne se handrem sal nooit so effektief wees as n drom rem voertuig se handrem.

Korrek.

    So begin dit...

The price of fixing it added to the purchase price, you may as well buy a running model.

What sort of fuel consumption did you get? I know the most accurate will be when you fill up again. Keep us posted.
