Selling so far under trade? Methinks people are realising that high mileage Tregs are time-bombs?
The trade and retail values for that V10 are distorted to make the selling price seem attractive. No way correct.

Not quite correct to say that high mileage Treg's are 'time-bombs'. Incorrectly or badly maintained ones would fit this category.

If you are going to buy a 2004 V10 at R 89 000.00, I think you know what to expect...

Ja guys I'm not saying the VEHICLE has an issue: we're discussing MAINTENANCE and DEALER POLICY here.

That vehicle probably has no FHS so it's barge-pole time for most used car dealers.

if anybody is interested in buying that, fly me up and I will comb it over.... or just ask Tim Legge to go over it.

    Damn, I'm tempted.

The key is: Get a proper dealership. I state this often, lucky or shall I say the only luck for us Uitenhage/PE boytjies (as we are living in the armpit of South Africa) is that we have a superb dealership right across the factory, so VWSA have a close eye on them, that's why their staff/mechanics are the best in the country..... They know and exercise their knowledge.... Food for thought.....

I think the manufacturers are perhaps setting up consumers a little bit with these highly specific oil specs. I recently tried to find the exact specified oil for my TDV6 and could find none that is precisely right. Settled for something close but not EXACTLY right, but what chance does the average consumer have that the workshop will have precisely the right oil for your application. These misfills are not only happening over here but worldwide. I know emission rules and economy requirements also plays a role, but I wish they think about maintenance 10 yrs down the line at the design stage.

I rotate my wheels every 10 000km or so and always clean the rims before I put them back on. The missus thinks I am mental.

I was cleaning this weekend and took the cover off the tail gate to clean it inside. OCD perhaps?

    Cheers

I was like that before, but having 4km of gravel between your home and the nearest piece of tar makes you re-evaluate the meaning of clean.

It doesn't get washed often but it gets a pressure washer rinse down often.

R1494.54 all in. I got timefreight to pick it up and deliver to me.

A bit pricey but at least I know it's good quality and a lot cheaper than R12k-R14k for a whole shaft.

Marius. Is the price just for the bearing. Are you fitting it to the propshaft?
