I really think there is a huge market opportunity for you here but I know...start up capital usually is the problem! Maybe we should start a "Marius Relocation Programme"....

Just hold that thought. I have approached another german company for an apprenticeship. Need to go for an aptitude test and then take it from there.

If that fails we'll talk about shares up for sale....

Maybe we should get his treg to do more than 100km without something breaking first?
Or I could send my Landy to tow him there?

RELAX! Respect, Marius. I'm just yanking your chain ;-)))

Yup,told ya.... The,transfer case and rear diff oil have no alternateive that I could find.not sure on the atf-mine is a manual. I believe the transfer case oil takes the most pain.

Not really high maintenance but expensive maintenance. I have no reason for wanting to change the oils but I thought it is a good preventative maintenance item?

Even with all my calamities, it's still cheaper than a new fortuner/Disco/pajero etc.

Just a pain when it's unexpected and leaves you stranded.

It is school fees well spent though.

Can you as a compromise not just do a visual inspection on the oils. If one looks quite used, replace only that one, e.g. transfer case.

Fuchs Titan ATF 4400 ordered for the gearbox - R1578.40+vat for 20 liters
TITAN S/G SEMI 75W90 ordered for the front and rear differentials - R377.00+vat for 5 liters
I'll get the transfer box oil from the dealer as I couldn't get any equivalent elsewhere

It's a lot of money but hell, with my luck on this beetle I'm not taking any chances and taking proactive action in protecting my diffs, transfer case and gearbox.

Yes. I sent John Anderson an email asking him what the Fuchs equivalent oils are. I have spoken to him face to face and it was very nice speaking to someone who knows his trade extremely well. He's not just a salesman. He knows the technical side of his trade as well.

Some VW oils are still supplied by Fuchs.

His quick response and personal service is highly recommended in my personal experience.

    Hi Marius,

Would this the same requirements for the T2 V6 3.0 TDi? The reason I am asking is merely as I know the enigine oil differs on the V6 compared to that of the R5 and V10. The V6's owner's manual stipulates 507.00 as being the required engine oil.

yes. 507.00 for the engine oil.

the drivetrain all take the same oils across the range for touareg/q7/cayenne. But not for the newer models that use the 8 speed boxes as they are ZF boxes.
