    Maybe an answered question:

But Why is the high and low beams on the "double optic / zenon lights" different in colour?
The inside light is a halogen H7 globe with projector lens. The outside light is a Xenon.

Marius, how much are you prepared to pay for the ballast resistor? I might try and get hold of one in Greece. I'm only coming to SA on 20 Dec though. Is there a full part no or is the LAD5G it?

Thanks Francois. Let me know what they cost there so I can weigh it up against my other options.

I can easily get in RSA or import from UK/Germany etc. It's the price that's hard to swallow.

Thanks for the effort. Hopefully we can get a cheap one somewhere out of a smashed headlight.

Ranging from R2000 - R4500 for the same thing.

    There are no generic parts.

The only part that will work is the valeo LAD5G.

I could not do that to my Renault 10 Alconi in the early seventies. Had to much oil pressure.

Perhaps enquire with this person if you cannot just buy the ballast:

2007 Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI (Facelift, Air, Rear Diff Lock, Rear Mounted Spare)

2009 KTM 990 Adventure (Daily Commuter & Weekend Fun)
    2012 Imagine Trailvan 4-Sleeper

    * consumption needs to be seen in the context that the vehicle is towing an Imagine Trailvan 50% of the time.

Phoned them. They are bloody useless. They dont want to get in contact from the car supplier or give the number to enquire about the headlight availability.

Marius I have started looking in Greece, but everyone just tells me its very scarce. Funny for BMW I can get as many as I want. I've still got one option left, just waiting for the guy to get back to me. Will keep you posted.
