    Hi Rowan
Where is the injectors? Can I remove them myself?

Thanks Marius. Will have a VagCom on the T tomorrow.

    Hey Dieter.
Thanks for the other link. Seems like Treg had an exact same issue. Just wondering: what is a MAF and how do I remove it so I can clean it?

Look on the first few pages of this thread to see pictures of the engine and it's various parts.

oh for pete's sake. Been waiting more than a week for parts. The truck arrived late yesterday at Goldwagen.

Phone this morning..... "Yes sir, the truck arrived but your parts aren't here!"

Feel for you, not lekker going through a weekend without the Treg running! Blame PAJERO as he has a Goldwagen shop

I finally got my diagnostics cable for my KTM from the UK, so this weekend I'm calibrating stepper motors and syncing the throttle body. Nothing seems to break on my Treg, so have to fiddle with the KTM to keep me busy

    got the parts this morning

Topran bearing and Febi rubber coupling.

With all the experience I have had taking things apart and putting together with the failed bearing, this last time took me less than an hour to assemble everything.

She runs quiet and smooth now, even on cold start.

    Grrrrr.

Had the engine idling for a while, and then tried to rev the car past 2000rpm to check that oil pressure sensor is not giving hassles and to make sure the car can actually rev without killing the coupling again.

Bing bing bing, stutter stutter stutter. "Engine fault - workshop" on MFD display
    ESP light on

    What the hell?

    Scan it.

    G28 engine speed sensor - Intermittent/implausible signal!

    Google it.

It's the sensor behind the power steering pump.

I thought I pinched a wire. That wasn't the case.

Check the old engine for it's location and realise I'll have to take the engine mount off again along with AC pump to get the power steering pump off to get to the bloody sensor.

    Take the staff home.

Get back, reseat it's connector, start up the car and bob's my uncle.

Either I disturbed the sensor's plug or some of the coolant that spilled from the alternator job got onto it.

Thank goodness I don't have take the car apart again.

Let's hope this is now the last of the issues.

And..... my ballast has also decided to mend itself. The headlight is now sealed and I doubt it will get water in, even when submerged (I'm not trying though)

I'm so glad you got your alternator off, i was going to remove mine to see how many amps it was. I'm getting a dip in my lights when me music is too loud and the bass notes hit, so now i know its just a simple big 3 conversion.

if you saw the size of the alternator cable, you will realise that there is plentty of power to be had from the alternator and it will take a huge sound system to overpower the alternator.

Also remember that the alternator is intelligently charged.

If the battery charge is full the ECU removes the feed to the windings making the alternator put out hardly any charge at all.

It is also electronically disconnected upon starting. You can sometimes notice this when starting the car that for the first two seconds or so after the engine has started the voltmeter in the dash stays on about 12 volts and then you can hear the engine note change as the alternator is loaded up and the voltage goes to 14.

bigger cables from battery to alternator, cable to sound, bigger ground cables.

Perhaps all Wedgy needs is a cap to soak up the momentary big draws.
