Same issue for me, OBC is typically about 2L/100km optimistic on my consumption.

I constantly use the CC, but just cannot get myself to set it 120km/h, it is usually set at about 125km/h actual speed (130km/h indicated). I know the extra speed does not have a big impact on journey time but does have a significant impact on fuel consumption due to the size of the car.

Weirdly in my Treg, the onboard computer says I am averaging about 12.5l/100km, but when calculated on Fuelly I get less than 11....

Yes, onboard display can be adjusted via vagcom.

However, it's usually accurate so have the injection quantity deviation checked to make sure the injectors aren't out of spec.

    My T5 4Motion indicated speed/consumption

    120: 10.6/100
    116: 9.6/100 (actual 120)
    100: 7.4/100

I travel @ 116 and save about R100 per tankful. Ie since Jan 2013 21 tanks. Belongs to me, not the sheiks.

I managed 8.5l/100km back from Douglas to East London.

100km/h average on the MFD which included about 100km gravel, 2 stop and go's and 3 nature breaks. I ten to drive between 120-130km/h indicated which is about 115-125 actual.

I find I drive way more economical than the cruise control. If I use cruise control the consumption average quickly climbs.

At one point I passed a new land cruiser V8 that was towing an offroad caravan at 140km/h. I was behind it in Queenstown and was trying hard to get past it. (I wanted to see the caravan and car combo better, hence the speed so don't bludgeon me, it was just a pass - he later came by me again when I settled back to my own speed).

Now I know that car can comfortably tow at that speed, but hell.... an evasive maneuver and that trailer becomes VERY heavy!

agreed, but I prefer cruising and not worrying about the speed. A little more relaxed, and not as tiring

    Great. Aircon stopped working today.

Checked the gas filled ports and there is some gas in there
Checked with UV light for leaks - can't see any
    VCDS scan reveals no codes
    Fuses are fine
    Rubber coupling is fine
Output test via VCDS reveal the radiator fans are working

With the AC on the hot side gets hot and the cold side gets slightly cool so maybe the gas is low. Any ideas from anybody before I send it in?

Julle ry te vinnig! Was die week van Modimolle na Harrismith en terug (895km). Waar ek kan ry ek @ 2200rpm. Lyk my so 106km/uur.Brandstofverbruik; 12,9km/l (7,75l/100km) ligter op remblokkies en loop heelwat koeler. (R5 Tdi 2004 met 270000km). My ouderdom laat toe dat ek so stadig kan ry.As ek reg onthou was die gem.spoed 91km/u)

Marius I remember on my Carravelle I had a similar problem when the "kinetic coupling" to the AC pump failed.

All I can say, if the aircon needed a refill (which would indicate a leak), the VCDS will report this from my own experience, so I think the issue is a different one.

took it to an A/C specialist who said the gas was just a little low. Like a balloon will slowly lose it's air, the same with a car's aircon gas.

So R200 for a topup of gas and UV dye. Let it run for a while and check for leaks.

No leaks and it cools better than ever. All in all a big relief!

Happy for you, - strange it did not show on VCDS. Mine threw a fault on the low coolant situation. Might be different on the R5 then.

Don't quite agree with the lose gas slowly story. It should not, if it is, it has a leak. The leak is probably too small to detect in this case.

I don't know who told u that Marius but that not true that a A/C sould not leak gas slowy like a balloon.
