Almost. I want to set the other injectors as well, but the measuring blocks are good enough for me to feel comfortable driving it.

I then also want to make a custom bash plate for the front part as the original one is broken all over.

I then also want to install a dash cam so need to search for an ignition 12v feed that won't freak out the CAN-bus computer.

I suppose, as with all my previous cars, the work is never completely done.

I also need to put all the stuff back in the car I took out like documents etc.

I also need to chnage the paperwork for the car to reflect the new engine number.

SUBSCRIBED - one that actually protects, something like 5 mm aluminium...

SUBSCRIBED - cigarette lighter connection would be my guess.

Had a drive yesterday. Man it felt good. Still a bit nervous and scared it will throw something else at me.

Cool pic. Do you have the digital compass in yours, looks like you have a little screen on the ceiling by the cabin lights? Nice extra to have.

Your R5 is now in a better state than most ont he road.

Yeah I can see you are standing longer at the stop sign than usually and your shoulders are not relaxed at all

Yes. It's a compass and clock.

I think I will get loads of pictures soon and add to this thread.

It was a VERY humid and hot day yesterday. Those two spots are condensation on the outside.

    Right

Took on the engine license procedure today.

Firstly went to License department and request RPC form.

Then take this form to DEKRA and have the MicroDot system applied.

Then take the RPC and MicroDot paperwork to the police clearance department along with the invoice of the engine.

Once you have clearance take everything back to the licensing department and you will pay some fees and receive a new license disk for your window.

    Job done.

Here is the car being sprayed with microdots. R570.00

Just by the way, those red door beacons that shine so nicely on yours, are reflectors only on mine... the change came with the facelift... thank you VW.. NOT!

I actually embaressed myself a while ago and complained to my stealer that the bulbs in mine were not working. At least they also had to remove one to find out it's now a reflector only.

This stuff was sprayed everywhere. Door sills, chassis, engine, diffs and other hidden places.

The spray shows up under UV light. So easily detectable.

ok. so actually all you cant see in normal light is just your paint.
all you can see under UV light is some paint sprayed on
what you cant see unless you have a microscope is the numbers on the dots
what we dont know is how long it takes with guys looking under microscopes is choosing all the numbers that your car will get
marius, i presume this is how its done? you then get a cert to say that your numbers are such and such

Under normal light you can't see anything unless you have good eyes you can see tiny dots half the size of a flea.

It is sprayed all over the car in nooks and crannies, diffs, propshaft, engine etc.

It is sprayed on through pressurised air and a paintgun, like you would spraypaint a car. There is then a canister attached that feeds special glue and the dots which show up under UV light.

    10'000 dots in total.

Yes I did get a certificate and a sticker in the window to scare of potential thieves. (Even my rims were sprayed)

I will send the new engine number papers to TuffStuff today along with the microdot paperwork. I may get a small discount on my premium.

It is not the VIN number (I suspect that makes it easy to forge those microdots and change the VIN and the dots- and you will have to wait for them to make 10'000 dots with your VIN on)

It is a unique number that gets linked to your car on a secure database.
