+1... think this could become the benchmark when purchasing a used turbo diesel in the future. For me anyway.

It is very interesting what people can see from a simple oil analysis.

Buying a pre owned Treg has now become a very complex process.

Next step we are going to require a DNA sample of the previous owner just to make sure he wasn't doping behind the wheel...

The one that is used by aircraft owners is WearCheck - http://www.wearcheck.co.za/ They have offices in most major centres. You get a very early warning of upcoming problems if you do an oil check on a regular basis. They only need a few 100ml every time you change your oil.

You get a sampling kit from them, fill it with oil and drop it off.

I must admit I have never done one on my vehicles but it is a must for aircraft.

I have attached one of the reports I have

    Great stuff, thanx for sharing.

How much is an oil analysis more or less? Just curious.

    Good luck Marius!

Uncle Peter you old smoothie !

Oil tests are definitely the way of the future. For a small amount if money you can avoid a future problem.

Of course that all counts on Peter giving you the right info upfront as opposed to revving you up with a story that your engine has very high cholesterol levels.....

    Hi guy's
    adsl gehad.
    my cell nr is 0828765093.

P.S. ons koop baie parte by VW Breakers, het nog altyd goeie diens by hulle gekry.

Thanks for the offer. I spoke to shaun at the breaker yesterday and he gave till monday at the latest after that he's selling it to other interested buyers.

The oil analysis looks good so im gonna speak with him today to regarding a holding deposit and when he can take the engine out. Last thing i want is for that engine to be sold to someone else.
