    A nice group outing today.

I noticed something peculiar today. I got beached on a hump. Subsequently the air suspension tried to level the car but couldnt so gave an error on the dash. No biggy, it happens on cross axles sometimes.

What was strange is that the car refused to open the boot. Which wasn't nice as I had to get the tow eye out to be pulled off the hump.

Interesting. Wonder what the logic of that is. Could the rear windscreen still open?

    No. Tried that as well.

Got out, dropped the suspension and then the boot opened.

I found d the same recently, at killarney in kzn I climbed a sandy steep incline with serious cross axles, as I stopped at the top, the error message beeped and nothing opened. Once back to off road level all back to normal. I must add, quite proudly that a mate in a D3 couldn't make the climb....

1000 kms since last oil change. Safe to say the engine is running cleanly. Rings must be devoid of carbon and sealing nicely.

    That is impressive!

Is your EGR blanked or open these days?

Egr blanked, catch can and some controversial muti. I have modded the fuel temp sensor to get some extra fueling as I have gutted the exhaust so I feel Im safe.

Have you used a resistor which you said you would never use?( As per other historical forum posts)

My views change often as my knowledge increase. Often I'm found wrong down the line.

I still maintain not to use a straight resistor swap as is common. I use a parallel resistor, calculated so its effect diminishes as the actual fuel temp increases, leaving the ecu safety net in place in terms of timing and injection quantity.

Its been a few months now and no hassles. I would actually recommend it above a chip. My racechip didn't last long before I took it out.

The nice thing about my mod is it put the MFD economy back to accurate after my tyre upgrade. So just the odo is out.
