exhaust was screeching like a fanbelt when cold due to two studs broken on cylinder #1.

Luckily not much had to be removed to get to them. I left the exhaust manifold in place. Drill and tap two holes. Bob's my uncle. Still have to test though, I hope the gasket didn't get damaged too badly to still leak.

So, I placed an order for Achilles Desert Hawk ATs yesterday. No stock.

So today, I thought, bugger it. Let's get muds. So I ordered these (not paid yet)

I personally wouldn't although I would love to, just don't go off road enough to warrant muds.
Will look awesome on the treg - what size are you looking at?

I don't commute with the touareg and my driveway is 4km of dirt which is getting worse with every rain due to our government not paying for upkeep. (but they want rates and taxes)

Yes, it's a compromise but I go offroad often. You only live once heh?

The VeeDubs have enough sound insulation to curb the road noise. I have muds on the 'Rok, and would do it again any day of the week.

my son in law has muds on his jeep. also for every day black top driving and some rock crawling and some mud. i say you must go for it. if that guy in germany can do 700k kms and uses muds then you should too if you want your german car to last like a german car.

Road noise is slightly more than the dueller AT I had before but nothing major. Car is still quiet and if you bought the car today the road noise would be perceived as normal.

I don't know if it's silent muds or just the touareg's great NVH.

I'm loving the tyres so far!
